Q: is the angle of the branches adjustable?

The to branches are all as is shown in the image. The 2 branches on the side, the knot, and trunk knothole can be adjusted however you like.

Q: width when assembled?

I would guess 3 to 4 feet, buy since you put the limbs on yourself, you could make it wider or narrower. I followed the explicit directions the first time, but didy own thing after that. I LOVE the tree and have used it several years in many ways. It is now in my grandson's bedroom.

Q: Can the tree be glued onto cardbord to become free-standing?

The tree itself comes in several parts and the leaves are all individual, so you could assemble on a large piece of cardboard and cut around the tree. You would need to create some sort of stand for it though in order for it to become free-standing.

Q: Are the leaves attatched?

No the leaves are separate. You can have the tree bare for winter or use the leaves as a template to create colored fall leaves
