Hercules DJ Control MP3 E2

I am very happy with this little controller. I got it to learn some simple DJ and mixing abilities and it's perfect for that. The quality is good for such an inexpensive device. It feels sturdy, and the knobs and sliders are all solid. So far it's been totally reliable. It was very easy to set up with Virtual DJ and I'm starting to get pretty good with it! Music is a lot more fun when it's "hands on" with this thing. It's small so it doesn't take up much room on my already crowded desk, and it's also very portable so I can carry it in my laptop case. I can't wait to take it to a party and spin some choons for my friends! For any beginner who wants to learn, or anyone who wants a portable controller to take to parties and such, this is the ideal device. I don't have a single complaint about it.

I think this is a wonderful product. Most people complain about the size, but I really have no problem with it. I am 6'3 and have large hands and i don't even have the occasional bump or slip up. I think its a great size to pack up easily and travel with.It comes with an old version of VDJ, but it is compatible for the newer versions or any other dj software.I think it is good for the beginner dj as well as a house party dj.It may not give the quality of vinyl, but it does have great quality.I also enjoy the scratching ability.

Overall, the Hercules DJ Control MP3 e2 is a very solid product for the aspiring DJ. It comes with everything you need to make it work on pretty much every PC: 64-bit drivers, Virtual DJ (which really isn't essential as Virtual DJ is free, but you know), and even a little guide on how everything works for the complete beginner.The MP3 e2 serves its purpose very solidly and offers a DJ everything they really need in a mixer: crossfaders, channel faders, and 3 channel EQs; the works. The MP3 e2 works right out of the box--I was DJing the very day it came in the mail--and it works well. It is very portable as well, I am able to carry it around in my laptop bag wherever I go without a single hitch.That being said, there are a few flaws on the MP3 e2 that could potentially impede your DJ experience. The pitch sliders are not sliders, they are knobs like the EQs. This wouldn't be so big of a problem if the knobs moved smoothly. Instead, they move in clicks, which in turn, pitch bends your song in increments of about .5%. This means you will be unable to manually beatmatch your songs, which is a big part of DJing that you could potentially miss out on. Also, trying to scratch with the MP3 e2 isn't the greatest experience, so if you are planning on learning to scratch, I very highly suggest you find a more suitable project.All in all, the MP3 e2 offers a very solid out of box experience for the budget DJ who has learned the basics and is ready to jump into DJing for themselves. Although you won't get the fullest, most hands-on DJing experience, with the MP3 e2 and Virtual DJ, you will be able to create mixes at the same level as any other DJ. If you are content with your music being synced through your software and aren't too worried about scratching, I very highly recommend this product to anyone.

I ordered this item around 6pm, used the one day shipping for Amazon Prime and it was at my house by 8:30am the following day. Now, i am not a dj for hire, but i am always the one at party's that brings the music and dj's for the night. I was interested in learning a bit more, so i bought Virtual DJ software, ordered this, and got the EBook of DJ'ing for Dummies. I have a backgroung in music, and have had some music theory classes, so understanding everything was easy for me, but the instructions for the controller were easy to follow, and well written. If u are interested in becoming a dj, or being the dj for your family and friends like i am, this is the controller for u. It will let u learn on something that is easier to use, and more self explanitory than a bigger more exspensive one so u can ease ur way into it. I recommend getting Virtual Dj software, it comes with basic version, but the ful version is easier to use, and has more options. I also recomend a book for learning the trait. Only downside was the generic version of Virtual Dj it came with, but understanable when the full version is $250.DJing For Dummies (For Dummies (Sports & Hobbies))

I got this Hercules DJ controller about a month ago and it is still going pretty strong. For the price, it is pretty dang good, but their are some things Hercules could have improved upon, even considering the price point. The faders are pretty nice and sturdy as well as the vinyls but the nobs seem a little cheap. there is also too much resistance on them. the buttons are also a little cheap and it is easy to see that the labels on the inside of the buttons are just pieces of cardboard paper stuck up to the top of the buttons. the body is made of tough ABS plastic which is a good thing considering I was looking for a compact, light, portable mixer I could bring to gigs. For the cost, you cant expect too much and this mixer could be better, but it could also be a lot worse. For how much I payed for this thing, I would say it is still a pretty good deal.

Bought this because i have CD turntable set up and im tired of Scratch CD's or losing them. so i was told that this control was good.MY REVIEWThe shipping was great. Very easy to install, but I hate that they didnt give the Full version of Virtual DJ. Its hard having to scroll for songs when you have 25000 plus songs on my labtop, normally they would let you type in the artist, song,etc. but not the free version they give you.Other than the software, it's a great starter control and there isnt any lag time with the control and cpu.My Mac Software is 10.6 so i suggest if you have anything higher like 10.7 to make sure you do some research before you buy it and give it a bad review because for a 100 bucks its worth it.

Bought for my 11 year old son. He loves it, he was able to set it up on his own and it seems easy to use. It is well built and comes with a cover to protect it, which is good. It is smaller than we thought it was going to be, but that is good as it makes it more mobile. The software is good and straightforward to use.
