It's huge, it's sharp . It disappears in my pocket . Its like having a small sword. Lol . Very nice no problems, well there was 1 I needed a knife to get my knife out the blister pack.. will definitely buy again but pay extra buck for the box. You definitely won't be disappointed . I like this knife a lot, I'd call the blade a cross between a kitchen knife and a bayonet. it is long enough to handle most anything you will need to cut. Thick enough to make the blade hold-up to plenty of EDC use, yet not too wide to get in the way. The sabre grind and blood groove makes it a fair choice for defense.Search "Detroit dog attack" and you'll know what I'm mean defence Many people poopoo it for the choice of materials used. But that keeps the price down to maybe a third of higher end materials. I hit it lightly with an Arkansas black stone once a week or so and it stays plenty sharp enough. Another thing important to me anyway is I can open it with one hand, normally nothing to brag about but my hands don't work soo good, a lot of knives take me two hands to open I saw many reviews saying how big this knife is. If I lived where I could go to jail or worse for having it in my pocket I'd think it's big too. It fits fine in my pocket, the only time I find it big is when I try to put it in my pocket sitting down. Around here the size is like my dad and uncles used to say "Nothing Thing" so I don't have to worry about scarring people. Often instead of trying to put in my pocket without standing I will clip it to my t-shirt collar so I can't walk off without it and forget it's there. For me a high end version of this knife tiny enough to be legal in Michigan (just silly size limit ) would be an awesome little knive.

I bought both the Large and Medium sizes. The medium is going to be Every Day Carry. The Large? It is awesome. But it is also almost 8 inches CLOSED. Wonderfully light for it's size but seriously not in the "Pocket" knife" category. You can stick a baseball bat in your pocket, but it's gonna stick out. If I decided to carry it, I would find or make a belt case for it. 8 inches closed, I'm seeing it's 13 1/2 inches open. A Ka-Bar Marine Fighting Knife is under 12 inches. The Large is a BIG knife. Glad I bought both, but they definitely have different purposes. The Too EZ Opening Blade Fix is at the end of my review. You should follow all this numerically in order. Hints & Tips! - #1. - Oil. Get some. I suggest 3-in-1 oil. If you are a modern human, living indoors and have stuff, you need to have some 3-in-1 oil. Works on squeaking door & cabinet hinges, Bicycle chains and other machinery, and knives. Order it at the same time as the knife and they may come together. #1A - If you open your knife and the liner lock is stuck - FIRST make sure you didn't engage the Slide Lock om the handle. That may be the whole issue, Can't close the knife because the Liner Lock is Locked in place. Doing the following with the Slide Lock engaged WILL trash the lock if not the entire knife. Got it? Unlock is to the rear. Right-handed instructions - You need a tool, preferably a wide flat-head screwdriver. Bigger=Better. Holding the Knife handle firmly in your LEFT hand and the screwdriver in your Right hand, just slip the tip into the wide open area at the back of the blade and gently ( to mild swearing ) twist like you are UN-screwing a screw. Counter clockwise Lefty-loosey. And the liner lock should release the blade and go back where it's supposed to be - until you open the knife again. #2. - When you get your knife it's not oiled. Needs oil. 3 to 4 drops properly should do it. Knife closed, setting on the rear/butt end, one drop on each side of the blade ( we're aiming for that bearing at the pivot point). Then 1 drop artfully applied to the flat area of the blade which should be pointed up if you are resting it on end and making sure a decent amount of that hits the little "step" in the flat AND the rounded dip next to it. If it doesn't, that'll be drop #4. Tip of a toothpick is handy for spreading the oil. #3 - After oiling the knife at the four points above - Now open your knife the old-school way. Knife handle in one hand, back of the blade in the other. Slowly open it all the way then close it again ( note: lock probably may not fully engage, that's fine). Do that 3-5 times, just spreading some oil. #4 - May want to do this outside in case you got oil crazy - Now start flicking the knife open and then closing it. After 10 good flicks - Open the knife and carefully remove any oil you can easily wipe off with a rag. Don't go poking around inside the knife, that oil we want to keep, we're just blotting up the excess that would get on your clothes & hands if we didn't "wipe the counter". #5 - Flick & Close. Repeat 100 times. 100 isn't a magic number. It's just a good start. Every piece of machinery requires a break-in period. Cars, firearms, folding knives. You DO NOT have to sit there and flick 100 times. Break the work into chunks. Because after about 20 open & closing cycles your fingers are probably gonna be fed up with the process. Mellow out. Spread it over a day or two. Flick a few times, walk away. Get used to grabbing the knife and opening & closing it. Become one with the knife. Ooooom. All this so far is just the cost of buying a new thing. Just to bring more bummer into the ownership of a knife, if you use it, you're gonna need to sharpen it, too. Until you lose or break it or toss it in a drawer forever. Thus closing the circle of owning possessions. -- That should fix most of the New Knife Problems. Now for the "Knife Opening in My Pocket" Fix: My *closed* Large knife with the blade facing down would open halfway open in my hand with the mildest of jolts. Not something I'd want to occur in the groin or gluts area of my pants. The fix is gonna send most of you shopping. The Fix is a #9 Torx bit. *MY* knife just needed the very slightest nudge of tightening at the pivot with a #9 Torx bit ( Clockwise - Righty Tighty ) . The Torx aperture is that round looking hole in the pivot. One side has the Torx hole, one side doesn't. I did have to do some careful slow "Oomph" on it, but just the very slightest of movement put mine very close to right. A tick, not a turn. If you crank it more than minuscule , that will be the New reason your knife will not open. I can still flick the knife open setting on its butt with one finger but it definitely tightened up the "Holdy-Shutty" tension. This WILL NOT prevent you from bumping the flipper ears in your pocket. But the knife won't just fall open because you move or walk down steps when you get the tension set tight enough for your preferences. And holding the knife upside-down, I can still do a clean jerk and inertia will swing the blade open.

It's large. It's a large knife. It's A really really large knife. I bought it because I collect knives, I can't carry it because we have a 4" limit on blade length in the city I live in, so it's A toy. It's A really big toy. It's A well made, solid, sharp, great big toy, and I love it, as impractical as it is. 4 (actually 4.5) stars at this price point because nothing is perfect, but as a toy? It's great. I have a lot of Cold Steel knives and implements in my collection, because they are well made, reasonably priced, and useful in camp. This ain't that. This is just so I can say to my knife collecting friends "no, that's not a knife, THIS is a knife..."

This is an awesome knife with a strong fit and finish. It sports the average liner lock but it's cold steel so it locks up solid with the additional leaf spring safety which can be actuated once the blade is deployed. There was no play in my blade. I purchased this from Amazon and it is an authentic cold steel knife that came razor sharp out of the box. The Luzon 6 inch is a very large folder that makes me grin every time I crack it open. It's a wicked looking beast at great price.

Great knife. I had to replace mine because I used it so much it was just a little nub. I love this knife. I use it probably close to 100 times a day. I’ve used it on drywall, to cut thin sheet metal, to scrape wood, open boxes, break down boxes, food prep. The narrow point is just beefy enough to take abuse but be still great at poking holes with ease. I have had three of these and they never let me down.

I purchased this Cold Steel Large Luzon directly from Amazon LLC as the seller. The product comes brand new (BNIB), with 100% condition or in other words no flaws at all. Despite there are some negative reviews about this product, mine comes all fine and to me it is a very good value option for a still functional piece from Cold Steel. 5/5 Stars I'm satisfied :) *Alright, moving on to bit more in-depth review of the Large Luzon; The 8Cr13MoV factory edge comes shaving sharp out of the box, lock up is solid as there is no blade play at all be it vertical or horizontal and that's the liner lock alone without engaging the secondary leaf spring lock or whatever they named it. The secondary lock deploys smoothly and locks solid for me, I am unable to disenggare the liner lock with the secondary lock on no matter how forceful I pushed it. Some might see the 8Cr13 steel as "crappy steel" or such, but for the price range on Luzon and usability it'll do just fine so long the heat treat is "proper". Deployment action is super smooth with either the flipper or thumbstud (flipper is more efficient and easier for me). I am surprised that I only use very gentle push on the flipper and the blade went out like *SNAP* and locked solid, it feels like an assisted opening and this is without wrist flick motion at all. The handles are made from GFN, yep felt like one altho to be honest it felt "fragile" I suppose it would serve just fine so long one doesn't crazy abuse this piece. Grip wise it's very ergonomic and theres a lot of room to try your grip since it's 7.5" long handle. It is VERY lightweight despite carrying whole package of 6" blade and steel liners. Now the "pocket clip", this is the first plastic (or GFN?) pocket clip I've ever handled from Cold Steel. It fits just fine on my jeans or ripstop cargo pants, locks securely and detaches easily altho there are times it locks on the pocket yes, overall not a problem at all. I just wished they would include a spare clip in the package just like Cold Steel knives with metal pocket clips. Well that's all folks. A satisfying buy, good addition for the variation to me. Trotz einiger negativer Bewertungen des Large Luzon, habe ich das Messer nun doch bei Amazon bestellt, da ich neugierig war und wissen wollte, was mich da genau erwartet. Ich besitze schon mehrere Messer von Cold Steel und bin von der Fertigungsqualität noch nie enttäuscht worden. Zu meiner Freude auch dieses mal nicht und das Design des Luzon ist schlicht umwerfend! Das „Hosentaschenschwert“😉 liegt fantastisch in der Hand, es lässt sich sehr gut aufflippen und schließt auch sehr smooth mit einem satten Klick, und das Gewicht finde ich genau richtig. Der Liner-Lock ist präzise gefertigt und hat null Spiel, jedenfalls bei meinem Modell! Das war ja eigentlich immer der Hauptkritikpunkt beim Luzon, aber das dürfte Cold Steel augenscheinlich ganz gut in den Griff bekommen haben. Fazit: Wieder ein sehr cooles und gelungenes Messer von Cold Steel! Meine Erwartungen wurden nicht enttäuscht und ich würde es sofort wieder kaufen!
