Does what it's supposed to do, just does it slowly

I did not know that you had to have a special app and pay for the app in order to use this and I did not know that you had to have Wi-Fi. I thought it would work off-line.

The translation is quick and accurate.

I usually use Google Translate and I'm a bit skeptical about trying a language translation device. A friend told me to try one because she uses one every time she travels. I got this because it has great reviews. The translation was slow at first, until I realized I was in an area with poor cell service. The device left a pleasant impression on me. I tested the device's accuracy with Google Translate and was impressed. I tried Ukrainian, French and German with my foreign friends and I was blown away. Italian is very accurate and they were impressed with how well it translated. Overall, it's a great little tool, much better than some apps. One thing I'm a little worried about is how fast the turns need to be. Initialization took less than 30 seconds, about the same as my initial WiFi setup, time, date, etc. before I started using it. I think it's easy to use for someone not as tech-savvy as me.

I’ve used it for translating magazines or even video game menu’s by holding it up to my console screen. And for the most part, it hasn’t failed me. But there are somethings that you need to know. It’s best to speak clearly and slowly. It’s best when their is no background sound or music, you want the mic to record the language as best as possible. For those who are in business and travel, I also see this device as a wonderful investment. Or travel in general, especially if you want to get your point across, especially if there is an emergency. It’s going to make Spanish a breeze this year for both my daughter in middle school and my trip in November. We took to the library and tested it on various script. We even quizzed google translate with it. It’s amazing! Thank you!! The device is amazing. Much better than competing products. It translates nicely and quickly. I can recommend it without reservation. But also as well as institutions or businesses that want to communicate with others in a foreign language. This is a fantastic investment and well worth the price.
