Im a pool installation specialist. Been doing in the past 20 years. Today I received this so call pump but all it is is a weight .we are doing a donation for are local community pool .So it's under a budget due to having to replace 12 for of return line and new filters and up lights. Everyone came to BBQ for plans to finish minor details .And open it up this afternoon. We comes to find out this new pump won't prine with water in it after minutes and a hose big with shop off at suction line .Tested for leaks .Had a professional pool installer tried hooking it up and still won't print after have a suction line with hose one flowing with pump pulling it started smoking in water at strainer lid.I should of did more research as after I bought it I seen it's returned alot .So now I got to wait for refund ship it back wait 30 days for my money .Then push community pool opening for Month.Ive spent alot of personal money fixing this pool from community pool for the kids .So my heart goes out cause Amozon letting junk get sold after knowing it's a returned item alot.Billion dollar company make u wait 30 to 60 days

Considering the price of more expensive pumps that have less of a flow rate, this is a good value and I have had several of these pumps. With that being said the last one I had that was identical last somewhere between 5 to 7 years, running outdoors and being exposed to the weather. For a swimming pool pump that cost around 130 up to $180 at the time of purchase, I think that is a reasonable service life when more expensive pumps cost 500 to well over $1000. It does have self priming and will power up, but it is best when primed with water before starting the pump. The install was easy and it came with several different attachment options that made fitting it into my existing system much more manageable

I intentionally wait a good long while to review this pump. I was afraid that for as cheap as it is, that it wouldn’t last long. It has worked out really well and runs nearly 24/7. It is relatively quiet and has a good strong output. Bought this a bit oversized for our in ground pool as I did the salt chlorination system. I rarely have to touch the pool now!

lasted 1.5 years bearings now worn and leaking everywhere and have to replace again. Buy a different one this was cheap
