Great for installing stair runner
I've upholstered chairs before with a regular staple gun and had a lot of issues with staples not penetrating fully. I had no issues with this staple gun. I used this to install a new carpet runner on my stairs and it worked perfectly. Every staple went through this fairly thick carpet and into the stairs, no jams or any other issues. It's fast and powerful. Just be careful because there is no safety.

Really does the job
Positives: I bought this for upholstery projects on antique (very hard and solid wood) furniture. It goes through thick folds of fabric with no problem at all. After doing 7 chairs with tons of staples, it only misfired once (one staple came out funky, but it didn't go in very far and was easy to remove). It has been very reliable. It's very powerful and is great when you are doing the difficult corner parts of upholstery projects. We were even able to use it on a wood detail project on a piece of furniture on which we put solid oak trim. It stapled right through the oak with no problem. We had been considering buying a nail gun, but this thing actually did the trick! It fires very quickly and can handle pretty rapid succession firing, so you can accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. It's about a million times better than a regular hand-powered stapler. It's a real workhorse. Negatives: Beware--if you mess up, then that staple is basically impossible to remove. So, you have to make sure you know what you're doing. Also, regular hardware stores do not carry the staples (we went to 3 major hardware stores after I ordered the wrong ones online, based on what other people had ordered with this item on Amazon, so apparently we were the blind leading the blind). You have to be sure to get 3/16" CROWN staples. The crown is the width of the top of the staple, not how deep it goes in. I was able to order the right ones online through a specialty staple store. I bought DUO-FAST 5412C 20 gauge 3/16" crown, 3/8" deep staples, and they work well. You can buy longer staples if you need it to go in deeper. The instructions for the staple gun specifically recommend DUO-FAST staples. Obviously, you should unplug the machine while reloading staples for safety reasons. Enjoy!

Packaging is very simple and has a good description and picture of the stapler that comes packed ...
Roberts Professional Electric Stapler (10-600). Packaging is very simple and has a good description and picture of the stapler that comes packed in a sturdy plastic case for storage. Opening the package and case is very easy, and the stapler comes with about 15 staples already inserted and ready to use. I bought this stapler to tack down a loose carpet on my stairwell. The width of the stapler, when placed against the wall, put the stapler tip in perfect position for stapling the carpet into the wood trim below. The stapler has a sturdy electric cord that hooks to standard household (120 VAC) current. Once plugged into electricity, the stapler makes no noise. It has an easy to use and conveniently placed trigger. Pressing the trigger activates the stapler. It works perfectly. I only had a small piece of loose carpet to staple, but it was at the top of the stairsโso strategically placed for someone to trip and fall. Within 5-10 minutes the job was done. The carpet was stapled securely, and the stapler, cord, and package of staples were back in the sturdy case for storage within 10-15 min. The whole job took about 10 minutes. Thinking that I would need additional staples, I bought the DUO-FAST 5418 D 9/16โ Divergent Point (5000 staples). I used these staples in the stapler, and they worked perfectly. The sturdy stapler storage case also comes with a nice compartment that will hold this pack of 5000 staples in place when the case is closed. Of course, I only used the electric stapler for a few minutes, but this short-time use of the product was perfect for stapling a small piece of loose carpet and deserving of 5+ stars.

Itโs fantastic!
After reading reviews, I purchased this staple gun to jazz-up some plain counter height chairs in our nook/family room with some faux cowhide. I had only upholstered once before and had used a low priced electric stapler that had no power and just killed my hands and didnโt want to go through that again. I nearly went with an air driven model but didnโt want to have to purchase a compressor and have all that bulk. This Staple gun is amazing. Itโs easy to use, load and has a real kick to it. The staple heads are smaller than others but they sure hold well. In fact, I really wouldnโt want to have to tear them out as they seem so secure. Fits nicely in your hand, no misfiring and where you aim is where it lands. Has a nice long cord also and came securely packaged with a good carrying case. I recovered the fronts of 6 chairs in an afternoon and most of that was removing the previous tacks and staples. This tool made it so easy and the way the head is shaped I could get into harder to reach areas. Looking around now for more projects as Iโm looking forward to using it again! One Month later: I just used my Roberts Staple gun to recover a very large cornice board that I didn't take down off the wall and it was soooo easy! Even though I didn't have a lot of space to work around the top I was able to fire staples in at an angle and they hold so well. LOVE IT!

Electric stapler
It has made my job easier since it makes precise stales and being electric it eliminates noise both when charging and when using. It is easy to use and suitable for any floor work.

It literally failed on the VERY first trigger pull
After reading the reviews, I bought this, as my electric upholstery stapler had just given up the ghost, and I have a couple of big jobs this week. Ordered on Friday, showed up two hours ago on Sunday evening. Gotta love prime. Decided on this based on reviews and Prime shipping, as the other brand I normally use isn't on Amazon and it won't show up until Thursday or Friday. Nice blow molded case, gun felt good in hand and seemed to be solidly built. Much to my extreme disappointment, the Roberts stapler failed on the VERY FIRST TRIGGER pull. Seriously. Took it out of the box, loaded it, plugged it in, and pulled the trigger. It fired, and something broke internally, because the anvil won't retract/reset. NOTHING in the instructions about what to do if that happens, so I figured it meant it was dead. I'm not taking a brand new gun apart to see what happened. Boxed it right back up, filed a return, and dropped it off at Kohl's Amazon return less than two hours after it was delivered. Fluke? Maybe. Buyer beware is all I can say.

Easy to use
This stapler was a little heavy for me since I was only using one hand to staple the carpet while the other handheld the carpet tight on the nosing. However, it was worth it because it made the job of recovering the stairs go so much faster! I tried other electric staplers, and they wouldn't go deep enough to hold the carpet. I was going over the other carpet on the stairs and needed the power of the stapler to go through the old carpet and the new carpet. I think it was a great tool to add to workshop and plan on using it for upholstery and framing. I am not sure of the value, but I know for me it was really convenient because I didn't need an air compressor for the pneumatic stapler, I thought I was going to have to get. I highly recommend this stapler.

Breaks fast
Purchased this stapler and it broke in less then 20 uses. Screws starting falling out the first couple times i used it then the part that drives the stapler just failed one day and never worked again.

Nice tool
Drives staples very well ,lots of power but is a odd size 20 gauge all of my other tools (pneumatic) is 18 gauge. 20 gauge staples hard to find (usually special order) and more expensive and less variety, and has no safety will fire as soon as trigger is depressed. Keeping that in mind is still an awsome tool and I would recommended it .
