The climate in UT is very dry. So, my humidifiers get used every day. I have tried many other products to minimize the mineral dust in my humidifiers. This is the only product that seems to make a difference. I would recommend this to anyone has experienced similar frustrations with humidifier mineral dust.

Keeps the humidifier running better and keeps the water and filter cleaner.

Not sure about any bactericidal properties, but it seems to extend the life of my humidifier filters a bit. This is important, as our humidifier runs 24 / 7 in the winter months, and we go through a lot of costly filters. Then again, I haven't done a cost analysis: cost of an extra filter or two each year vs the cost of this product.
