Peach Pitter Tool, Multipurpose Corer Pitter, Silvery

Not very sharp

A while back, I cut my finger so badly while trying to remove an avocado pit with a knife that I needed stitches. Since then, I've been very careful, but I thought this device would be safer to use, even though the product description says that it's for peaches. As you can see in my photos, it did work to remove an avocado pit. I easily sliced around the pit with the ring before twisting underneath to scoop it out. The process was not difficult at all. So, why only two stars? Because while the idea is great, and I've demonstrated that it can work for my purpose, the quality of this tool is so bad that I will not use it again. Despite the stainless steel label, the pitter was already rusted around the blades when I received it, and I don't want that corrosion coming off on my food. What's more, it's constructed in such a way that there are small openings where pieces of metal come together, allowing food to get stuck and making it difficult to clean. And overall, it's so lightweight, it just feels flimsy. This would have been a very useful tool to have in my kitchen if it were better contructed with quality materials. As it is, I don't recommend it.

This is a lightweight but well made stainless steel peach pitter. It is easy to use and works well for peeling the pit away from the peach’s flesh. This pitter is also easy to wash after each use. It has a good hand feel and does not require a lot of force to work.
