Can this kill chickens?

Depends on the chicken. I'm pretty sure it would work on a sparrow, but I'd never go after an ostrich. One time my wife tried to get a chicken with one of these boomerangs, but it caught the boomerang and through it back at her. Non-returning. Yeah, right. The chicken winged it pretty hard and took off her leg. I mean, you could try, but be careful. Chickens be crazy. Plus, I think there's something in the directions warning that it's not made for hunting chickens and could result in "a dangerous situation." My wife never reads the directions.

what type of hunting is this for. is it big enough to take a deer

Rabbits, birds, cats and dogs anything under 25lbs. Have a few. Have a side arm to finish the job. Need a big hand and strong arm. Has enough heft to have to be pretty devastating. Need to be within 30ish feet to be somewhat accurate. Dose not fly back. Does bounce off of solid things. Check out the Cold Steel torpedo. Fun as well.

How strong is it can it get stuck in a tree

It is pretty strong and has a small chance of getting stuck in a tree, it is heavy and would break limbs if they are small, it is not like a throwing star, it won't get stuck in the trunk

could this take down a deer

These types of boomerangs are called throwing sticks. They are not typical aerodynamic returning/flying toys. They are similar to indian war clubs. They have enough centrifical force to take down small game.
