Works great!
The color is awesome, first off. It makes ice quickly and efficiently. And yes, I am sure it can make 26 pounds of ice in 24 hours but remember that you have to empty the tray the ice lands in approximately once per hour. If you don't, it will stop making ice. Also, the ice will start melting if it is in the tray too long. So you need to keep your eye on it to make sure it doesn't stop making ice because the tray is too full or your ice melts. This is not a defect. It seems all countertop ice machines are this way. In my experience, I can fill a gallon freezer bag (ziplock) in about 4-5 hours. Plan to empty the bin at least once per hour and put the ice straight into your drinks or freezer. I thought this machine would replace my need for buying large bags of ice for parties, but it would take days to achieve that, unless you stay up all day and night tending to the machine. So this machine, realistically, is for light, daily use. Plan on really stocking up on your ice or keep buying bags at the grocery store for large events. Overall, this is a great machine, takes up little counter space, and makes great little ice cubes with minimal effort. I definitely recommend it. Thanks!

There are plenty JUST LIKE THIS on Amazon! But... this is the best!
I had another 'brand name' ice maker that looked JUST like this that I found on Amazon a few years ago. It was about $149. It finally breathed its last sigh of relief and died on me this last week. So.. I looked around. The local Walmart super store had one that looked identical! But... it was $88 plus sales tax. I looked on Amazon, and ... as you have probably already seen (if you are looking at this review) they are almost ALL from about $119- $149-$189 price range! And then... I stumbled upon this one. By "Silonn"??? Gimme a break! This is IDENTICAL to darn near ALL the Chinese made small counter top ice makers you will find here on Amazon. And... For only $77??? BUY THIS ONE! Its exactly the same as all the others (more or less). And it pumps out about 9 ice cubes as fast as you could imagine, maybe 9 minutes? It keeps the ice in the internal basket, as they melt the water just goes down in the lower bin to be recycled again. There is no refrigerator function. Nothing in there keeps the created ice cubes cold. It just has a typical compressor and freon and it makes ice cubes -- over and over! As they melt, the water goes back in the lower bin. Then, when the clever infra-red sensor sees that the ice bin is full, it will stop all ice making process. But as the ice melts (goes back in the lower bin), it will immediately create another batch of ice cubs for you! There is another magical function (?): If the water level in the lower bin gets too low, there is a red light that will tell you "ADD WATER". I just use the 16.9 oz pure water bottles you buy from Costco (Kirkland 'brand') or Arrowhead 16.9 oz bottles you can buy darn near any grocery story to refill as often as this machine needs more water. I probably use about 5 or 6 big glass fulls of this ice every night for the drinks in my house. It works great, and has never failed me yet. It is much cheaper (and yet, IDENTICAL to the ice makers all over Amazon and in big-box stores like walmart) than you will find anywhere else! Gosh... I hope they send me a new one just like this one, for my kitchen, for free, after they see my raving review of this one!

A Lean Mean Ice Making Machine!
I love my new Silonn Nugget Ice Maker! I got it a couple of months ago and purposely waited a few months before reviewing it. This ice maker did not disappoint at all! As soon as I cleaned it and plugged it in, it went to work spitting out ice. It works well and the ice is perfect for drinks or chewing (iykyk). It's just as good as the ice you get from sonic (similar to hospital ice) but better because I now have an unlimited supply! I literally leave this thing on all day and night and it hasn't skipped a beat. I fill it up when I leave for work and there's always a bucket full of ice waiting for me when I get home. I use spring or distilled water in my machine and I run the cleaning feature at least once every two weeks. I haven't had any problems with it to date. The machine is not completely silent but it also isn't noisy. It doesn't take up too much counter space (I have a small kitchen with limited counter space so that was importantly for me) and it comes with a scooper and a hook for the scooper. The ONLY con I can think of (if we can really consider this a con) is that the suction cup that holds the hook onto the machine sometimes fails and lets the scooper fall off of the machine. But I can't even really count that as a con because it doesn't affect how the machine works at all! If you're in the market for an ice maker for your family this is the one! It easily provides ice for my family of 3. The ice that it makes is great and the machine looks good.

This machine is awesome. Yes it makes 9 ice cubes in 5 minutes. Not as noisy as some say.

5+ Stars & An Honest Review (+Pro's/Con's)
Been in use for about 2 months now, I'll be sad if I ever have to replace it. I was really skeptical about a countertop ice maker, but I'm so glad I bought it. Ordered this ice machine for using in my game room without having to go up/down the stairs to my kitchen for iced water. It makes large and small size ice nuggets, and makes 9 ice cubes in under 10 minutes! I keep a 5 gallon jug of filtered water upstairs for refilling the ice machine, I have never used tap water. The unit is quiet (barely louder than a bathroom fan) and has a decent sized, removable basin for holding ice and a deep water reservoir. If you don't use the ice and it stacks up, there's a sensor that stops the machine from making more ice (or until it melts down), so you don't have to worry about overfill, ever. I have a very short list of pro's and con's: PRO'S: + Quickly makes ice (just let it cycle filtered water and dispose the first round per directions) + Two sizes for ice cubes which can be selected on the top + Never overfills and will automatically stop when tray is full of ice + Conveniently quiet, no louder than a bathroom fan, and never beeps + Very mobile, would be great for tailgating or camping with electric plugs + Does not produce a lot of heat in a confined area (but make sure it's ventilated) + Convenient removable ice tray and nice hand scoop provided CON'S: - Takes a couple of hours for a full ice tray - Can't use tap water, must be filtered (just read the directions) - Initial set up takes a full day to run water through the maker before regular use - Ice cubes are not very big, so they can melt quickly in room temp liquids - Ice cubes are tube shaped, not chipped or nugget style - Plastic parts do feel flimsy, so take care to not use too roughly I hope this review helps potential buyers. I was very, very hesitant but now I use it more than my kitchen fridge! Very happy customer.

Money well spent!
I love this ice maker! Ive never owned an ice maker so I have nothing to compare it to, but I am beyond happy with my purchase. I got home late this evening from work and it was on the porch in the upright position. I did not see that its supposed to be upright for 24 hours before plugging it in until after I had it plugged in and making ice. Im hoping that didnt harm it, but its been making ice for a couple of hours and everything seems fine. It's started off kind of slow, a piece of ice here, a piece of ice there... but once it got going it really pumped out the ice. I used the scoop to move the ice around in the basket a couple of times because it will get backed up before the basket is full. It stops with a green light to let you know the basket is full. I pushed some ice around and it started producing more almost immediately. I saw a few reviews that complained about the noise, but im not finding it any louder than a fridge or deep freezer. I took a video but not sure how accurate the noise level is with my phones microphone. Its really not worth waisting anymore time talking about it other than to say dont sleep with it and you should be fine. I got this because Im a fan of ice water and energy drinks poured over ice (There's a 4th of July Monster that is so good over ice!). I also like to chew a bit of ice with each sip. This thing makes the perfect ice for it. Its like Taco Bell or Sonic... even the ice they use for patients in hospitals.. its perfect ice. Pros: Its an ice maker that makes perfect chewable ice and it doesn't break the bank to buy one. Cons: Really, the only con I can think of after a couple hours of use is its not a freezer. So the ice it makes has to be used or tossed, otherwise the ice will melt, drain into the reservoir and be remade. I imagine this would put a lot of strain on the ice maker and burn it out before its time. Plus, the ice would start tasting funky. I highly recommend to anyone that likes ice and likes to chew it.

Durable, Workhorse, Super Fast *Updated a year later*
I purchased this for a camping trip in early July 2023. When I returned I decided to set this up on the counter and continue to use it, not expecting too much with performance based upon other reviews here. I have had this machine on 24/7 for 5 months (minus draining a few times to wipe out). It has never failed and continues producing perfectly shaped ice (great for my Soda Stream Bottles). Within 6 minutes I have a handful of ice. Key: Do not use tap water in these machines and expect it to have a long life. I use distilled water ONLY. Although I have not tested it's durability with tap water, I would not as the tap water here is very alkaline. Update: After returning from my camp trip, I set this up at home, and this thing has worked continuously for one year and continues as of July 2024. I have never used anything in the machine but distilled water and have had little maintenance other than emptying and wiping down occasionally. It has lived up to being a workhorse. We have another ice machine and my husband always wants to use mine. This one makes bite sized small round perfect cubes, vs his, which makes square brick-like cubes that stick together, and have to be smashed in order to break them apart for use in a glass... This machine, none of that, each bullet is perfectly separated.

I like the machine, but it has to make bigger ice cubes then it does.

Don't expect it to last more than 2 years
Almost lasted 2 years and just died. Ordered a different model this time. I guess for the price that's all you can expect. All these cheaper ice makers have the same "bucket, acorn ice, flipper" mechanism and electronics so expect it to work but just for a while. Worked great...hard to clean, but it won't make a difference on longevity.
