I previously had a Nillkin keyboard case for my old iPad, and because of how good the quality was, I decided to go for this one for my new iPad Pro 13 (2024). The overall build and functionality of this case is top draw, as per my last one, and is very impressive. It has a detachable magnetic keyboard, and when you don't want to use the keyboard then you can just remove it and use the case as a protective cover. The keyboard itself is comfortable to type on, and the keys have a nice amount of feedback that makes long typing sessions feel natural. It feels almost like typing on a laptop, which is exactly what I needed when I use my iPad for work or just browsing at home.The trackpad is also really responsive and very impressive with it's multi-gesture navigation that actually works really well, and that is the bit I wasn't too sure on before I got it. I didn't expect the trackpad to work so smoothly with iPadOS, but it does, which is great for someone like me who prefers using a mouse over the touchscreen for a lot of tasks. It just makes it so easy to switch between apps, scroll through documents, or browse websites.The multi-colour backlighting on the keyboard is subtle which gives it that premium look to it, plus you can adjust it to suit you or for different lighting conditions. It also has a slide camera cover, which is a thoughtful addition for privacy when not using the camera as I just don't trust cameras which you can't cover up.Overall. this has everything I need - great protection, great looks, and great functionality. It may seem expensive, but when you take into consideration the cost of the actual device and the protection and functionality it gives you, I think it is well worth it as the build quality is superb.

Typing feels natural, with keys that respond well without needing too much pressure. The backlight makes it easy to use even in dim lighting. The trackpad is smooth, responding well to gestures without lag. The magnetic attachment holds everything securely but comes off easily when needed. Switching between using it as a stand and just the protective cover works without fuss. The added weight is noticeable, but the protection it provides makes up for it. Folding it into different angles works well, whether for typing or just watching something. The build feels solid, and the extra features are useful without being gimmicky.

Nillkin is making some very high quality products.This one is really solid.I have zero worries about my tablet getting damaged while visiting clients on-site.

This is a really robust case, which does make it heavier but it protects your iPad including the camera with a sliding cover which feels positive and robust. You can position the screen at angle angle by easily adjusting the flap on the back. The keyboard feels positive and its great that it’s backlit with the ability to change the backlit colour. The keyboard connected simply to the iPad using bluetooth and a cable to charge it is suppled. You can also completely remove the keyboard if you just want to use the iPad using touch only. The trackpad worked well and there are lots of setting within the iPad to change the way it works.

When you buy a premium device like an iPad Pro 13” you tend to find that the accessories come at a premium price.That is true of this keyboard case, its hefty price tag could make some choke but in a way it is justified as a fraction of the overall cost of the iPad Pro.What you get for that money is a very well thought out design with premium materials. The case section i rugged without looking like a kids toy and is light so not adding much bulk to the tablet. The top where you can store a pencil is a bit bigger than I would like but overall not too bad.It is held to the keyboard section by a MagSafe looking ring. And it is strong enough to hold the tablet in place but whilst it may look MagSafe it isn’t actually compatible which is a shame as I often (as now) write my reviews on a phone using a keyboard and to use the lower stand with the phone in landscape would have been a nice touch.Moving onto the keyboard, it is superb. The whole thing is lit like a MacBook and has similar key feel. It is a pleasant experience typing on it , the keys and trackpad being very responsive.The down sides are that when closed the keyboard essentially rests on your pad screen but there is little to resolve that really.The stand does the job and it’s nice you can fold it away.Overall it is a very good keyboard, value? Well you have to accept there is a premium to be paid and thats not an issue when the case is as good as this. It’s not perfect but it’s very close.
