Best lacquer Iโve ever used. Works great with my cheap spray gun and some thinner, creating a gorgeous mirror gloss finish on my guitar. It took me a while to figure out sanding it so it was looking pretty rough at first, but this lacquer just keeps getting smoother and glossier with each coat.

I use this as the final finish on the gift boxes I make. It dries to a beautifully lustrous finish. I have used it with my air brush and with just a little thinning it sprays on easily. I also use a foam brush to apply it and find that it flows very nicely without leaving brush strokes. Great product with a hard durable finish.

Used with HVLP gun, but a small pankake compressor. Once the pressure is set right, just be patient. I sprayed a little at a time & got good flow, laid down excellent, and cleanup is a snap with thinner. I added just a bit of retarder as my shop temp was cooler than I like & bit humid and results were fantastic. As it says, thinning is not required, but it doesn't hurt to thin it slightly - I thinned it 20% & it did fine.

If you have to use lacquer, this stuff is great. I really hate using lacquer though, so I'm going to try using Brite tone in the future- not because I'm unhappy with the results, I just hate the fumes, solvents, and low solids content of lacquer. I painted a guitar body, using trans tints for the color coats and then several coats of clear. A single guitar and neck required the whole can, but I sprayed more coats because I'm inexperienced and didn't want to sand through during my level sanding. It says on the can, but thin at least 30-40% with lacquer thinner. Then either get blush eraser, or add retarder. I did three wet coats per day, and did a light level sand after six, then let dry for two weeks, then six more coats and a final level sand. I think doing a premillnary light level sanding helps speed up the "curing" (aka shrinking) process. After the 12th coat and light level sanding, I didn't have any witness lines after two months. I like what the guitar looks like after I sanded to 1000 grit that I just left it without buffing. It shines up with playwear on the spots that you touch, which gives the guitar a nice used look without dramatic relic-ing.
