Works great - much better than those with gas springs.
This laptop mount worked very well. It is very sturdy, moves out of the way easily, and is not awkward like those with gas springs. I had tried one with a gas spring but it sank down with the laptop on it and bounced upward when the laptop was removed. Gas springs work for monitors but not laptops that are on there part time.

Saved me money from using an expensive alternative
This saved me a good amount of money. I purchased this as an alternative to a price keyboard mount for my Sim Racing Rig. They usually sell for over $100. I paid $25 for this. It has an adjustable table/desk clamp for different thicknesses. I was able to use a small food tray to clamp the mount too. It has a swivel clamp that's easy to pivot out of the way. The instructions were also easy to follow.

Clamp on Shelf Adds Space
Perfect additional space. I'm using in my music studio. It has allowed me to have devices at arms length ready to use. This is my 2nd shelf I have purchased. Very sturdy, easy to install and adjust.
