Excellent cable, fulfills the function I was looking for, very useful for when using wired Android auto and improve the charging speed.

It is a huge help with my Hyundai Ioniq 6, which keeps providing power even when the vehicle is shut off so that Android auto stays connected even when I'm out of the vehicle. With this I can get power from another source that shuts off with the car

This cable did exactly what I wanted - now my Carplay adapter is only on when my car is one. My garage is right above my living room, so before my phone would randomly connect to my Carplay adapter when I was just sitting on my couch, or I'd be doing something in my garage and suddenly music would start blaring from the car.I would love a version of this with a much shorter cable to reach the power source - my Carplay port is right next to my DC port where I pull power, so now I have to hide 1.5' of cable. I'd pay the same money for a short 6" cable that I don't have to stow. I'm sure a lot of people have a similar problem. I would also suggest the USB input be placed at a right angle instead of sticking straight out.

This cable does exactly what it is supposed to do. It splits the data and power so that you can plug a wireless CarPlay adapter into the data USB port on your vehicle, but power it with a different USB port. Why would you want to do this? Some vehicles keep the data USB port hot (or turn it on when you approach the vehicle even if you don't get in) even when the vehicle is otherwise off, which keeps your wireless CarPlay adapter on. This means your phone will randomly connect to CarPlay even when you're not going anywhere. This is annoying. This cable prevents that from happening because the power USB port only turns on when you turn the vehicle on, so the wireless CarPlay adapter is only powered when you turn on your vehicle. The cable is reasonably well-built and should last a long time. It just comes in a little plastic bag but that's pretty much standard. The instructions are attached to the cable with a yellow tag that can be removed.I only have a few complaints, none of which is really the fault of this cable which is why I still give it 5 stars. First, the direction that the cable sticks out from the data side plug isn't ideal for my vehicle. Not a huge deal as this is a universal cable and it has to go somewhere. Second, and related, it would be nicer if the data side had a right angle up or down as it kind of sticks out longer than I would prefer. Again, since this is universal, that may work well for my car but not well for others, so it's hard to knock it too much for that. Finally, the data USB on my vehicle is USB-A, so that's fine, but all the other power USB ports in my car are USB-C, so I have to use an adapter for the power side of this cable. Again, not the fault of this cable, but it would be nice if there were a version that had USB-A for data and USB-C for power.

worked for two days then killed my wireless car adapter (the adapter had been working for nearly three months before I installed this) - now the adapter will work for 3-4 minutes, overheat, then disconnect, cool down, reconnect, overheat, disconnect etc... tried it directly in my car's USB port and same issue - started two days after installing this cable

This is exactly what I needed to stop my phone from wanting to stay connected to my car once it was off. So many times my call would “transfer” to my unoccupied car because the usb that the dongle was plugged into would still have power. This fixed my issue. So easy to setup and a great value. Solid build quality
