Schlage Single Cylinder Front Door Deadbolt, Bright Brass

Arrived in good condition. Was easy to install. Works great.

I have to say...that I much prefer the basic easy to use and re-pin deadbolts to the newer SecureKey lock systems. I have only had trouble with Schlage SecureKey products. I have already ranted about it in a comment to another review of this actual product, so I will leave it at that. I got this unit and had it re-keyed in 15 minutes and it only took that long because I proceeded with extreme caution being a somewhat novice at the process. I do have a Schlage rekey kit and have done a few units before this one, so it is not a job that can be easily accomplished without the proper tools. Anyhow, I managed to replace yet another failed Schlage SecureKey unit with this one. I am done trying to work with those. Rekey in seconds! - the package exclaims, yeah, after you hunt all over town for a service that uses the old method of making the rekey unit out of the blank they provide. And I too am wondering at the earlier review that awarded only 3 stars because the reviewer thought this was a SecureKey product. I noticed no such reference, but I guess it could have been removed in the short period between, or maybe I just missed entirely...you never know... I am very happy with it and it was great that I could have it within 24 hours with minimal cost as it was available on a prime basis. Very happy indeed.

This deadbolt lock is well-constructed and should provide the security you want. I really liked the addition of extra long fastening screws for the jamb piece. Those screws penetrating the door frame, along with having an oak jamb, will make my door very resistant to forced entry. The buyer should be aware that the two bolts that hold the halves of the lock together are too long for inch and 3/8 thick doors. This required that I cut a quarter inch off the end of each bolt. Not a big job, but that shouldn't be necessary and it is something I have never encountered before. The polished brash looks nice on a chestnut stained door. All in all, a good lock that I would be comfortable purchasing again.

Since the day installed the has been no breach or attempted breaches of security. One hundred percent compliance. A fabulous success.

Easy to install and great quality for replacement for old lock

You can spend almost the same amount of money if you pay a locksmith. They bring an inferior brand and add a surcharge. Do what I did .... get this brand/model. I did my research and these are rated very highly in terms of being secure. When I lock my doors at night, I hear a nice "thap" sound. Solid equipment, moves nicely. WORTH IT. Update: still loving my new locks. I did pay a locksmith to install them, but it was still a significant savings to buy my own top grade locks vs. paying a tiny bit less and having the locksmith bring extremely inferior (easy for a burglar to break) locks. See the ad for the "grade" level and look into it. These are A+++ quality meant for a business, but looks nice on a house. A very good price given that fact.

Schlage is so dependable, always has been. It just gets better with time as technology advances the conveniences. It is my lock of choice and I highly recommend. Also, very easy to rekey.

We needed a gold (or bright brass) coloured bolt to match our door handle. The finishing was smooth and we like the size and weighted feeling of the bolt. The item seems to be of good quality. We have just installed it for two months and so far so good. Hopefully the product will last.

We needed a 2 sides keyed lock and this one does a good job. Happy with the choice we made. We've only had it for one month, so cannot say anything about durability. If anything changes, I'll come back to my initial review.

A+ all around Quality is very nice! Building it and all the instructions are super clear! Adjustable for both types of entries (I think ours was 1.5 so had to remove 1 plate) super easy Works like magic! AA++++

Hello I am new to Amazon.ca and this purchase was the the first for me purchasing a material product from on the internet . This product works great and is completely what I wanted and what I had ordered , other than some damage . My only disappointment was that the interior side of the deadbolt was damaged . It had/has a small dent and some very noticeable scrapes on it . I had ordered what I assumed to be a new product , but some of the plastic packaging had been opened ? Because of some time constraints I had installed the product , and I do intend on keeping it . I have no other option , once I had installed and used it . So far the mechanism of it works great ! But in my situation the appearance of the product was part of the function of the product . I will be very hesitant to ever order another product from Amazon or from the internet in general . Buying sight unseen has proved to be too risky for me . Caveat Emptor ! UPDATED I have now used this product for 10 months , and other than the slight damage to some of the finish , I am COMPLETELY SATISFIED with it ! I have since replaced all of the door sets in my house with Schlage products , and am very pleased that I have done so .
