The first thing I noticed about the enclosure after opening it was the exceptional craftsmanship of it. It has a good solid feel and the enclosure has a quality action when opening it, extremely smooth and exact fitting. You will understand if you purchase this device. The functionality is amazing, installing my M.2 SSD with a form factor of 2230 took seconds. No screw is needed at the end of the SSD, Satechi uses a flexible rubber mount at the end of the drive to secure the SSD; excellent design! Compatible with form factor 2230 for your SSD. Easy to use and similar to a thumb drive. Overall, exceptional product with superb craftsmanship and is worth the money.

Joke of a product. There's no real heat sink or thermal pad included. The fan gets really loud, the SSD gets really hot. That fan blows on nothing towards the solid PCB, it is even indicated in their own marketing image. Additionally, there is zero warning on SSD compatibility, one such case is in their marketing image a SN770M from WD is shown, attached to an iPhone. In reality, said SSD cannot be reliably powered by iPhone due to high transient power draw. This is why the iPhone shown was in standby, not in recording, because once you hit record, it will fail. I have written sincere product feedback to their support, and all I got was a generic "Your feedback is greatly appreciated and will provide insight to our developers to implement product improvements." instead of them actually correcting the misrepresentation, and faulty design.

This USBC dongle is excellent and small form factor. I struggled to flash this with raspberry Pi OS or/and format it! After scratching my head I "discovered" you need UNLOCK the dongle (there is side switch and you need to UNLOCK it) and it worked like a charm. Hopefully this is helpful to others. The manufacturer MUST have a small brochure explaining all these nuances!

This is the perfect enclosure for my old Steam Deck SSD. Runs cool as a cucumber even when I'm running multiple VMs from it at the same time. I haven't heard the fan turn on once since I started using it, works like a charm on my iPhone, MacBook and Steam Deck and has given my old SSD a second life in my EDC bag. Note: While I don't think you're likely to hit your SSD's thermal limit with this enclosure, you should buy and install a thermal pad to help with passive cooling. Unlike other SSD enclosures I've purchased (like the Sharge case), this enclosure did not come with any kind of thermal pad in the packaging to install with the SSD which would explain the heat issue that a lot of other reviews seem to mention, and I'd strongly recommend installing one if you can. Like I said you're unlikely to hit your thermal limit to begin with but a thermal pad will significantly improve passive cooling and help it stay quiet.

This is an excellent little enclosure for mini NVME2's. I like the idea of the portable USB-C to USB-C cord for convenience and packaging, but maybe including a C to A converter would be super helpful.

This has got to be the most inconsistent little SSD enclosure I've ever owned. One the one hand, it works flawlessly when connected to my Windows laptop. But then, it works terribly with my Android phone, and only works semi-reliably with my Windows desktop when I plug it in with a USB C-A adapter that artificially limits speed. I want to love this little thing - it's such a perfect size and is truly pocketable without needing extra cables. But the inconsistent performance or even reliability make it really hard to use and recommend.

Assembly is a little tricky but once understood it goes together easily. It has a magnetic latch that works very well but is not obvious. Also there is a little rubber support that needs to be oriented properly. All of which are easy. Works great and it is reasonably fast.

This is an awesome enclosure l. I added the WD Black 2TB SSD card and it works brilliantly. I formatted it in ApHD (Apple format) and I use it as backups for my research on my MacBook. Works straight out if the box. Added my WD Black 2TB SSD card, formatted it it works so well. I highly recommend this enclosure. I get lots of inquiries from friends and work colleagues about the drive. They now want one as well. I also like the mini cooling fan as well. Awesome! 5 stars.

Das Gehäuse ist sehr gut verarbeitet. Um eine SSD einzubauen wird die kleine Abdeckglasscheibe abgezogen, die von einem Magneten gehalten wird. Der Einbau geht ohne Werkzeug vonstatten. Ich verwende das winzige Gehäuse mit einer 2 TB SSD mit der Größe 2230 als Speichererweiterung meines MacBook Air M4 mit verlöteter 256 GB SSD. Ein Geschwindkeitsunterschied ist für mich nicht feststellbar.
