Definitely NOT uni-directional
I had high hopes for this microphone when I purchased it to make cooking videos. The build quality seems really good and I love the furry wind shield. The cable is long enough to handle about any need you might have. Unfortunately, this mic picks up a TON of background noise.Regardless of how I position it or how precisely I aim it, it records noise from behind it. It picks up so much noise from my fridge that it makes my videos unwatchable. If background noise isn't a concern for you, this is a solid mic. But if you're looking to isolate sound based on where this mic is aimed, you should look elsewhere.

Be prepared !!
Gets the job done,,,, not recommended for serious- professional gigs,,, great for low budget productionsNot good from a distance, great from close up and needs a quiet enviroment obviously. Prepare in pre-prdocudtion to record in quiet areas because this mic picks up all the sounds!!

Well made, requires extra battery
I like this mic, it is sort of annoying that it only picks up things super close to it, but that can also be a blessing at times lol. I think this is a good mic to have in my kit, but I will be getting a different one, and making sure that that mic is multi directional.

Too big for most camcorders
This thing is huge, I bought this to use on a camcorder. Unfortunately way too big and although it was compatible with the jack it's not compatible with the rig. Quick shipping with Amazon prime and easy return.

Great mic
The sound quality of this mic is outstanding. I just wish it had a light to show when the mic was turned "on" as most mics do...and I light to show if the battery is getting low or is fully discharged.

Very Nice Microphone!
This is a very nice microphone. BTW this is the M14 - the 14 inch version and came with very nice wind Furry and Foam screens.

Not good for moving the mic around
When the microphone isn't moving it sounds absolutely great, however, if you move it even slightly you'll hear unpleasant feedback from it. I think this type of microphone is more so meant for interviews rather than for recording audio for films.To make it simple, if you're recording audio for an interview or the scene you're shooting doesn't require the microphone to move around then this is perfect for you! Though if want to move it around, you'll have a problem.

Not bad for price
Standard phantom power +48 wheel power this microphone. FYI. Not the best sounding ,but adequate for the price -good deal. Directional tests did not prove a lot of precise shotgun mic performance.
