M-D Building Products 33308 Door Grille

The attachment bars were too wide for our screen door so I had to cut one side and drill holes for the screws, but I was expecting to do that. Only took approx 20 minutes. The Door Grille itself is stiff enough that I can use it to hold open the door with my hand, and supportive enough that I can rest my hip against it when opening the inside door and it looks nice. Best of all my screen is protected.

Bought two, installed them and the dog can no longer damage the mesh screen on the door.

(nb: Wherever you see "wholes" please ignore the leading w)Fitting:My screen door is 32.25" edge to edge. The fitting is very tight as you can see by the photos of the installation.Whole to whole is 29.75" (this is not indicated on the site or on the package). The balance of the measurements on the package are correct.Packing:The item was shipped in a flattened box, the edges were poorly sealed and on corner was sticking out and was bent when received. Luckily the metal was easily straightened. Part of the screen was dented, I didn't bother to work on that.Installation:Used a 3/32" drill for the wholes. No problem.Packing was the reason for taking away two stars. The item otherwise did the job. I hope that the information about the dimensions was helpful.

It's (almost) all about the dimensions. Based upon other reviews, either the dimensions aren't consistent or we're not all measuring the same way. I used a Craftsman tape. For the one I bought the outside dimensions of the support tabs are 30 1/4" The hole pitch is 29 11/16" X 19 11/16"The screen, without the support bracket, measures 24 7/16" X 20" With the bracket, the 20" dimension becomes 20 3/8"If you needed to, you could cut about 5/8" off the ends of each of the support tabs and redrill the holes for an overall dimension of 28"This fit my door's 31" inside the frame dimension, so I'm a happy camper.

Product didn't fit 32" door as advertised. Only good for 30" or narrower. I sent it back. But arrived in good condition, appears sturdy and attractive.

Very sturdy and fits perfect. The only dislike was I had to paint it silver to match my door, but not a problem, I didn't pay attention to the color when I ordered it.

I can't say if the item works well or not as it was too small for the use I intended (sliding screen door protection from cats). It looks like it would work for windows, but it isn't high enough to prevent cats (or dogs) from being able to rear up and get above it. That issue is on me, as I wanted to see if a partial cover would work for the situation and it didn't -- but that isn't a product issue but one of sizing for the situation.

This was the perfect size for my door. It was of good quality. Straight. Packaged well. I used it to put a pet gate in my screen door. Very happy with it. It came with the screws. Bit snowy now... she liked it better when it was warm!

Very happy with this grill. I made it fit for a patio door and that is perfect for kids and dogs. They can see through it and know there is something. It is very light for the door. (I wanted to show pictures of the product but couldn't do it)
