I suspect many others have also found like me that the catch on their bin lid fails after many years use, and cannot be easily fixed. It is good that you can get just a replacement lid. The design has altered slightly from the original, a bit more plastic and less chrome on the top, and lacking the little inverted dimple it previousy had for your finger.The important thing is that it fits fine on the old bin base, it looks the part, it functions well, and saves having to buy a whole new bin.It is still not cheap , but is a genuine Brabantia quality product, and hopefully will now continue our daily use of this stylish tall slim bin for many years to come. Much better to be able to retain something with a minor part replacement, rather than have to throw the whole bin away.

The original lid for my bin had broken so I found this replacement which is better than the original.It fits perfectly on top of the base and is a better design as the old lid had the working part to lift the lid exposed and when emptying in would get dirty very quickly. But the new lid has a cover over the springs that lift the lid keeping everything cleaner. The action to open the lid is better also with a new catch which looks stronger.Well worth the money as I didn't have to replace the whole bin. Would recommend if just want to replace the lid.

Bought to replace 11 year old broken lid. I was initially reluctant as the design had changed and I was worried it wouldn’t fit or look right. However, after reading other reviews I thought I’d go for it. Glad I did as it fitted perfectly and looks great. In fact, I think it looks a lot more modern and stylish than the previous lid. Additionally, the price was amazing as now you would think I had bought a brand new Brabantia bin for a fraction of the cost!

It was either a replacement lid or new bin when the catch snapped on my original 15 year-old Brabantia slim bin. At £80 I didn't much fancy a complete new bin when only the lid was faulty. Unfortunately my guarantee had long expired but Brabantia website has a handy compatibility tool that confirmed these new-style lids fit the old bins.I needed fast delivery (my dog was finding an open bin very interesting!) so bought from Amazon. Lid arive next day, fitted perfectly, and has given my old bin a new lease of life - and thankfully it's off-limits to my dog again!

Really pleased to be able to purchase a replacement lid since I had thought I would need to buy a complete bin. Looks good and very sturdy. I purchased the bin ten years ago, so if this lid lasts for another ten years I’ll be really pleased.

After 18 years of good service, the catch on the lid on my Brabantia bin lid failed. When I looked to see about buying a new one I was taken aback by the cost. Then I discovered that you can get this replacement lid for much less than the cost of a complete new bin. It fits perfectly, operates perfectly and looks the part. Highly recommended.

I love my Brabantia touch bin and always have, so when the spring in my original lid failed it was a case of what to do next. I could have sought a replacement from Brabantia but I’m pretty sure I have had the bin longer than the warranty period. Therefore the option to by an updated replacement from Amazon seemed like a no brainier. Cheaper than the official Brabantia website and with free next day delivery through Prime, how can you argue. The new lid is the latest design which is much more stylish with a complete black top and a much wider opening. Overall it really is a superb upgrade on the original.
