ZenMonkey Slackline Kit with Tree Guards, Fabric Carrying Bag and Instructions, 60 Feet, Easy Setup for Family, Kids and Adults

My husband (of 10 years) and I purchased this to have something fun to do together during quarantine to keep us active. As we are both recently laid off due to COVID, we have more time together then either of us would ever ask for. Upon the kits arrival, we were both ecstatic at how nice everything that came with it was, considering it's much cheaper then a lot of other brands. Everything is of extremely good quality. Including very well written and easy to understand instructions with pictures to match (great for beginners like us!). It was a breeze to set up in our local park. The problem came when I was surprisingly really quick with getting a hang of slack lining, while my husband was not. Instead of him doing his best to practice he would easily get upset and give up. This lead to him not wanting to go to the park with me. As I spent more and more time on the line, I obviously got better as it's so much fun and has only a little learning curve. After a few days I really got pretty good. I would get home and he would huff and puff about me being selfish and how we were supposed to be doing it together. I talked him into coming to the park with me again and giving it more of a try. There was quite a few people at the park this day. As he was trying I'd gently give him tips and tricks to help him grasp it. I would get on and demonstrate what I meant to make it as clear as possible. At this point there was a few people standing around and watching. One person walked up to ask how much I charge for lessons, as it looked like that was what I was doing because I'm so much better then him. This absolutely enraged my husband. He stormed off and made the 45 minute walk home, despite having our car there. When I got home he sat me down and told me it was either him or the slack line. I looked him straight in the eyes and told him I was going back to the park to practice. It's been a few days, the longest we've ever gone without speaking, and I couldn't be happier with this amazing slack line! John, if you're reading this, I want the ZenMonkey sticker that came with the kit back!!

Update: changing my review to 5 stars! I've taken this line out a few times now and it's great! Really love the tree protectors, super easy to use with the Velcro, and the line feeds through the "belt loops" attached to them which makes it way easier to set up by yourself. This thing is nice and long, and the ratchet works really smooth too. High quality stuff here. I've had a blast using it, and for the price id recomend it to anyone looking to start out or who's looking for quality at good price. Just be careful when you tighten it not to let the line get crossed up in the ratchet, take your time setting it up and use the tree protectors and this thing will last a long time! Also the customer service is great, i had a small hole in the drawstring bag when I received it and Zen monkey sent me two replacements for free only a few day after I wrote my initial review! . . . The slackline showed up today, fast shipping! Everything is in good shape, but the draw string bag included has a small hole right out of the box. Overall looks like quality gear, can't wait to try it out, break it in, and update this review! I'm giving it a 4 for now cuz the bag is ripped.

I’m extremely impressed by this slack line kit! I had a Gibbon Surf Line previous to this, and while I enjoyed it, I think this one is a much MUCH better buy. It comes with a carrying bag (my surfline didn’t come with one), tree protectors (a $15 separate purchase from Gibbon), arm trainer, it’s less expensive, and honestly it’s packaged much better and in a smaller overall footprint. The ratchet is smaller and more manageable, the grip on the line feels very high quality and like it's going to last a long time, and I LOVE the color! I got the blue one. It’s also very long, at 60 feet. That’s long enough to get any good surf riding going, but you can also just keep it shorter and play around a lot more too. I highly recommend buying this kit for any slack line junkie in your life, the price makes it a great christmas gift, birthday gift, or just a quick impulse purchase for yourself! Go enjoy the great outdoors with this awesome setup!

There are cheaper lines on the market and this is definitely a simple product that probably doesn’t have much difference between manufactures but I just didn’t want to be looking at an ugly line! The ratchet is rated and has some plastic molded around the handle & release for comfort. The tree protectors at big enough for most trees but won’t go all the way around most of them at my local park. The line is comfortable to step on, it’s certainly not a repurposed trucking strap. The beginner package was only $4 more but I knew I’d never use the assist line. This thing is addictive, I’m out in the park almost every night getting closer to being able to walk the whole thing. Great campground activity and a perfect thing to do while your hand is hurt from rock climbing too much.

I literally got this thing and set it up yesterday. At first it seemed like it would be great, although i could tell the ratchet quality wasn't as sturdy as some others I've used (even though those cost less than this one). Managed to use it lightly for about an hour - during which it worked fine. I then took it down and went back to set it up again later in the day but upon attempting to tighten it again it flew apart under what was not even close to a normal tension. I could have been seriously injured as it turned into a projectile - thankfully this didn't happen while i was standing on the line either. another important note is that I was the only one who used the slackline & i only weigh about 125lbs - no possible way i bent the brass pin that was holding the ratchet together so i can only assume this was a quality control issue. Disappointed with this purchase as i intentionally spent $50 instead of buying the cheaper slackline kits for this exact reason. Unfortunately, besides the quality control issue i just don't think this ratchet is made of materials sturdy enough to withstand sustained usage. I'll be returning it in exchange for another kit.. if it happens again though i am switching to another provider. Update from 1 star to 4 stars: I have used my newly revieved kit enough at this point to think that the failure of the first kit was a quality control issue. The new kit works well - although, the quality between lines seems to vary quite a lot.. the first line i had felt much tighter, whereas the new line felt so stretchy (until it was broken in) that it seemed to be made of different material ratios. Further, the bag the new one came in was almost twice the size of the bag that came with the first kit, and of lower quality... I like the line, now that i have broken it in, but goodness, for $60 you would expect more consistent quality control.

Everything arrived as expected neatly organized and all. The set up instructions were some of the easiest I’ve ever used for any outdoor equipment. Within 5 minutes, easily I had the tree protectors up, the line strung, and we were slack lining in no time! The line gets super tight, the quality of it is excellent, and I have no worry at all that is can handle me, a 190lb man without issue. We’ve already had a lot of fun with the slack line this Thanksgiving Weekend and I cannot wait to use it even more. Family is loving it and excited.

This slackline Kit is wonderful. It looks and feel like it’s a great quality product; it’s thick, looks very durable, it’s easy to install (and the color is very pretty!). We bought it for our kids but the whole family is having fun with it! I had a question for the seller about another product that they offer and I have to add that their customer support is extremely responsive and very helpful. I am highly impress both with both the product and their customer service. I highly recommend them!
