Here’s the good, the mixed, the bad, and a couple of precautions: THE GOOD I considered buying an Eight Sleep or ChiliPad/SleepMe product before settling on the HydroSnooze. After reading and watching reviews of Eight Sleep and ChiliPad, I concluded that Eight Sleep was too pricey for me, and ChiliPad’s durability and customer service have reportedly tanked since the company was recently acquired. I did try the BedJet as well, but I absolutely hated it (in short, it blew room-temperature air onto my feet, and made it much more difficult for me to sleep). I could find few reviews of the HydroSnooze, since it’s such a new product, but the ones I saw were promising. And since I was able to buy a HydroSnooze unit on Amazon, and it was shipped by Amazon, I knew that returning it if it didn’t work out would be easy. Thankfully, I didn’t feel a need to return it, because I ended up loving it. I simply set the temperature I want it to stay at, and it keeps me cool all night. I find it very quiet even on high speed, though the sound isn’t a concern for me since I use earplugs and a white noise machine anyway. Personally, I find 68 degrees Fahrenheit to be the optimal temperature for me, though that will vary from person to person. I haven’t had a use for the heating function yet, but I look forward to trying it this winter. I’ve been using it for two months so far. The customer service is A+. Whenever I email them, I get prompt, polished, thoughtful replies. I honestly can’t think of a company that has provided better customer service via email than this. Based on my feedback via email, the founder of the company invited me to provide more feedback via video chat, which we did for a three-hour marathon session. I was very impressed with his openness to feedback, which I’m hoping he’ll incorporate into the next version of the product. They even mailed me a remote control for the device for free, since the remote control wasn’t available when I purchased the product. I just tested the remote, and it works flawlessly. One thing the remote is able to do that the control panel on the device itself is not is to mute the beeps on the device, which is a handy feature if you need to adjust the settings or power the device on or off while your romantic partner is trying to sleep. THE MIXED Some people might not like the fact that it’s so simplistic in its design. For example, there’s no smartphone app, and there are no sensors or programs by which the temperature can be changed according to a schedule or in response to physiological cues throughout the night. However, to me, that’s arguably a positive, because the absence of these features (a) keeps the cost down, and (b) reduces the likelihood of bugs, breakage, and difficulty using the device. THE BAD The pad has two sides: the gray cotton/polyester side, and the white 100% polyester side. The white side is less comfortable, because it’s less soft, and the tubes that carry the water are closer to the surface. However, I can’t feel the cooling effect while using the gray side, so I use the white side exclusively. The tubes don’t bother me, even though I can feel them. The tubes did hurt my hands when I put my hands under my pillow, so I put a bath towel folded in half between the pad and my fitted sheet where my head pillow is (since I don’t need the bottom of my pillow cooled anyway), and that solved the problem. If I were significantly overweight, perhaps the tubes would hurt my body — but if I were significantly overweight, perhaps the gray side would cool me adequately, since my body would press down on the pad more heavily. One concern I have about the pad is that it’s not washable, and can only be spot cleaned. I’m concerned that it may absorb odor over time, and that there won’t be an easy or effective way to get the odor out. Fortunately, their customer service agent assured me that if and when that happens, I can order a new mattress pad (without the base station) for a small fraction of the cost of a new device, which put my mind at ease. PRECAUTIONS I have no reason to think that the device will ever leak, but just in case it ever does, I’ve done two things to protect my mattress and carpet: 1. I put a waterproof mattress pad between my mattress and my HydroSnooze pad. In fact, I already had a waterproof mattress pad on my mattress before I ordered the HydroSnooze, to protect my mattress from absorbing odor over the years. If you’re concerned that a waterproof mattress pad will trap heat, keep in mind that the HydroSnooze should overcome that. 2. I put a baking pan underneath the base unit, to collect the water-hydrogen-peroxide solution if and when the unit leaks, to protect my wall-to-wall carpeting from mold and bleaching by the peroxide. This pad is comfy and well made. I’m a single guy who sleeps hot—always have. My old routine was blasting the AC and sleeping with ice packs, swapping them out like a short-order cook in the middle of the night. Add my dog to the mix, and it used to get unbearable fast. Now, with this queen-size pad on my queen bed, I’m sleeping like a king—even with a dog hogging space. One tip: the pad has two sides. The plastic-feeling side is like lying directly on a reusable ice pack—iceberg cold, sometimes too cold, all night long. The fabric side, on the other hand, delivers a gentler, steady coolness that never crosses into brain-freeze territory.

Worked well for cooling as long as ambient temperature did get above 80°

Sooo disappointed. Worked great the first couple weeks set at 67, turned it on around 7:30/8:00, and set to run 12 hours. Now when set at 67 it cools to 74. The tube are a little uncomfortable but worth it if it cools properly. For reference; my house is around 74 degrees and I am in perimenopause with hot flashes.

About a month into use and I couldn’t be happier. The unit is quiet and even on the padded side is incredibly cool to the touch. As a menopausal woman living in south Florida, this is a game changer. I previously had a cheaper unit that needed to be refilled every few days and quickly got algae. This is a sealed unit and the water & hydrogen peroxide keeps the water clean and I only had to do the initial fill. I had some issues with amazon fulfillment only sending the cooling unit and not the pad. After contacting customer service for the company, they shipped me an entirely new unit and pad within 48 hours at their cost. They were incredibly nice to deal with and I would order any product they have to offer.

I was skeptical. I tend to sleep hot and like a weighted blanket to help me sleep. I compared this to several other mattress cooling pads you can buy, not necessarily from here. This one appeared to be a good choice based on research I did on u tube. It’s a mattress pad that has straps that go underneath the mattress to hold it in place. It does not slide around. I don’t feel the tubes in the mattress pad that cool it. Very comfortable. Setup took only a few minutes. The product does what it says—it keeps the mattress cool, but you don’t feel cold. I have it set to 72, and that keeps the mattress cool all night long. So far, I recommend this if you’re looking for this type of device. I’ll update this in about six months, or sooner if something happens, but until then I’m glad I purchased it. By the way, I did not test the heating portion since I did not buy it to keep the mattress warm. I definitely get a better night sleep. I don’t toss some turn as much with the mattress stating cool.

The product is effective and quiet. We bought the HydroSoooze as a more cost-effective option to some of the other competitors out there. We set the temperature down to 70 or so, and it cools relatively well, getting to about 71 when the ambient temp is ~75+. We find the product improves our sleep. The customer service was excellent as well.

I am quite blown away by this device because I was very close to buying the Eight Sleep and am very happy that I bought the Hydro Snooze (90x200 version). It saved me in the middle of the heating wave in Europe. I am a very hot sleeper and hated the feeling of going to bed showered and needing a shower again after 15 minutes in bed. The room I was sleeping in was 29 - 30 degrees celsius at night and I had the hydro snooze at full power. The cooling effect is subtle. You can definitely tell it’s cooler than everything else in the room but just to set the expectations right, for me personally it didn’t have the “AC-feeling” of walking into a room and instantly feeling the temperature. You feel it over time and in my case I even had to turn it lower on the first night and turn it off on the second night, because it was too chilly for me. What an insane thought with a room temperature of 29 degrees celsius. I simultaneously also tested a competitor named Adamson B10. I saw somebody on reddit say that the hydro-snooze is just a “whitelabeled” Adamson B10 and those devices from China are all the same. This couldn’t be farther from the truth as the HS uses a peltier cooling solution (similar to eight sleep) and the B10 has evaporative cooling. The difference is day and night. In quality and in cooling performance. The main device also leaked on day one and the fact that the B10 is under voltage + very cheaply made china stuff = I sent it back on day 2 after testing. On the max setting the HS was drawing 160-170W for me. It cost me around 800€ but considering that almost no one in Europe has AC, it is money well spent. The feeling and anticipation to turn it on 1 hour before bed and sleep in it tonight is insane haha.

Broke within the first 2 months of use, and won't be accepted as a valid return Joke

This was a birthday gift and I have loved it so far. The only downside I’ve experienced was that it had a faint rattling intermittently, but I emailed the customer support and they sent out a new one almost immediately. Would recommend.

I bought the HydroSnooze in the hopes of finding a decent alternative to EightSleep — something to keep me cool at night in a 26°C bedroom. What I got feels more like a tech demo in a plastic box than a finished product, let alone one that justifies a price tag of €949. After reading the previous review here (which included teardown photos), I examined the tech stack more closely — and frankly, it’s shocking: • One Peltier element • Two small aluminum heatsinks • A pair of Thermalright 120mm fans that are noisy and underpowered • Styrofoam insulation block • A basic plastic case and a low-cost PCB with no smart control, sensors, or app This isn’t advanced cooling technology — it’s DIY-level hardware with heavy marketing. There’s no airflow optimization, no intelligent thermal response, and the fans aren’t even strong enough to maintain a cool zone after hours of use. As a male weighing 80kg, I tested the device for several nights at ~26°C ambient room temp. The result? Target temperature was never reached, and the cooling barely registered — even right next to it. To make matters worse: • The bright LED stays on through the night (no way to dim or turn off) • The white case glows, making it disruptive in a dark room • Controls are clunky, and there’s no smart integration of any kind In short: the performance doesn’t come close to justifying the premium price. If this were priced at €150, maybe — but at €845, it feels like a bad joke. You’re paying luxury money for basic components wrapped in buzzwords. Unless you’re a hardware tinkerer planning to gut and upgrade the internals, avoid this product. I wanted to love it. I gave it a real shot. But this isn’t sleep tech — it’s sleep marketing.

Terrible. The product wouldn’t turn on. We had it already assembled but the unit wouldn’t switch on. It was costly to return and we are still awaiting credit.
