Comparing to the Ropeman 2
So I purchased a Ropeman2 a month or so ago, the Ropeman is a very well made product, however, the Ropeman2 frayed my Tethrd lineman rope every time I used it. I am using a 10mm linesman and it worked but frayed. I was looking for a solution when I stumbled up on this. It is built just as high quality as a Ropeman and works flawlessly on a 10mm linesman. I have had no issues whatsoever!! Great product and I highly recommend if you are using the Ropeman2 and having the same issue. The Ropeman2 probably works great on smaller diameter ropes but seems to destroy my 10mm Tethrd lineman’s. A bit cheaper than most Ropeman1 I have looked at as well.

Works great
Seems to be excellent quality and works perfectly. Comparing it to my RM1 they are almost identical, except this one seems to have a wider range of rope diameter it can handle. This one also has less lateral slop in the pivot joints comparing the two, granted I’ve used my RM1 for several years and it’s always worked perfectly. I mainly ordered this one because at the time it would be delivered quicker, but I’m very satisfied with the quality and function after using it.

Bad design product doesnt work very dangerous.
I am glad that I had my backup knot tied or else I would have not survived my first encounter with this product - Be aware this is not the one.

impressive specs but has not arrived yet
I use this type of ascender climbing and for personal protection in SAR. This one has not yet arrived as I am about to leave home for a while so tyhe review is just based on specs. The rope range is impressive: I have never seen one that handles 8-13 mm ropes. If it works on these sizes it will be great. I feel I can use it with confidence because of the CE testing; will know more once I get hands on. I'll update the review in the spring if it does not perform as rated.
