This is a great foraging toy and even cockatiels can do it. I saw a couple comments that say it might be too much for a cockatiel but mine figured it out in a couple days. I just crush up a nutri-berries treat and put some in all the compartments at the top and it keeps her busy for a while and is rewarded when she completes it. My only complaint would try and make an easier way to get the treat in at the top instead of having the wing nut exposed and having to unscrew it every time. I could see how bigger bird could just unscrew it to remove the top lid.

I bought this for my sun conure. She figured it out pretty quick but it still takes her time to get all the food out. Generally the holes are big enough for pellets and some small nuts or dried fruit. I wouldn't suggest putting in fresh fruits/veggies as it could be difficult to clean the inner chambers. Overall me and Junior are happy with this puzzle toy

The yellow-collared macaw likes to eat from it. He watched me very carefully as I put it together and played with it and put food in it, and learned quickly to jiggle the bottom piece to get food [It's meant to be rotated, but jiggling works]. I was pleased to note that he does not spill food on the ground, he just releases it and eats it as he needs to. I don't think he knows about turning the top piece yet, but he watched me with interest when I turned it recently. The biggest problem I have with this is, that when I take the top piece off to fill it, the center shaft where the bold goes is exposed, and it is really hard not to get food into it. And if there is food in it, the top piece won't go on as it should. So now I take a bit of masking tape and cover the end of the bolt and the hole while I'm filling it, and take it off to put the top on. This makes it easy.

Kind of a cool foraging tool. Bought this to use for my African grey. More for smaller birds as you can only put small seed in this device. Any thing bigger clogs the ports up and it wont spin. It also a pain to load as the ports in the top are small and the food falls in the middle making it hard to get the top on correctly.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I found this to not work so well after a few turns. The instructions tell you to be sure to keep the wing nut tight, but if it's too tight it doesn't turn, and if it's loose enough to turn, the wing nut keeps loosening up with each turn so that it no longer works properly. It's also rather hard to fill - maybe it should come with a proper sized funnel to help with that.

My GCC loves this foraging toy! Although it didn't take him long to figure out how to get his favorite treat, sunflower seeds, out. It's pretty simple to fill. I had no issue with seeds getting in the center and if they went in there it wouldn't be too difficult to remove them. So far he has left it intact and hasn't tried to get the wing nut off the top and take it apart. One problem I ran into was that the toy didn't fit the horizontal 5/8" bars so I can only place it on the vertical bars.

I alternate between this feeder and the foraging wheel feeder of the same brand. Both hold up well to my 2 goffins cockatoos. I use medium sized pellets, a variety of different Zupreem flavors and they fall through the holes just fine. I showed my parrots how to spin it and it was empty before I knew it. I do wish the wing nut and the screw I’m threading it onto was bigger. That could be a challenge to anyone with dexterity or fine motor control issues to refill daily.

My Green Cheek really likes playing with this toy. He also seems to have outsmarted it. Instead of spinning the top and bottom wheels, he just stands at the top and spins the top wheel and wing nut, bypassing the need to spin the bottom at all. He'll then wait until all the compartments are empty before getting all the treats at the bottom.

Das Paddle Wheel ist total super! Unser Papagei hat nach zwei Tagen schon verstanden wie es funktioniert. Das Einzige, was etwas ungelungen ist, ist das Loch oben, wenn man den Deckel abschraubt. Man muss sehr aufpassen, dass keine kleinen Körner hineinfallen, weil der Deckel sonst nicht mehr richtig drauf geht. Außerdem sollte man insgesamt keine zu kleinen Körner o.Ä. (hab leider einmal Grit mit reingetan) hineinfüllen, weil dann alles hakt und es sich nicht mehr drehen lässt.

Absoluter Schrott. In einem normalen Käfig ist es den Tieren nicht möglich das untere Förderrad zu drehen. Es sei denn, man hat einen Käfig der nach unten hin breiter wird. Ansonsten schlägt das Rad am Käfig an und dreht sich nicht weiter. Und dann für solch hohen Preis. Absolut keine Kaufempfehlung. Leider, da die Idee nicht schlecht ist. Die Ausführung dann aber schon. Und dann die Sache mit dem Einfüllen. Wurde in der anderen Rezension schon beschrieben.

this product is not durable. i do not recommend this line of products. i received the first item in the mail and it was broken. i received a replacement item, but after a few days, it is already falling apart. very cheap and can't withstand a Grey's beak.
