How wide is the bivvy bag?

It’s big enough to fit an adult sleeping bag inside. Great if it’s a bit cold and your in a season 1 sleeping bag.

yes. our bivvy bag can be reusable.

Is this suitable for the homeless??

They are made of thin foil only meant for one use and tear easy but could last a few days or more but that's pushing it. Only for an emergency.

Could this be used for a 1 off camping trip, just for 1 night in October weather?

I would not use this for one off camping .emergencies only. October I would suggest a proper tent and Good quality sleeping bag.you can't be sure what type of weather to expect.
