Works better then advertised! We live in a suburb of a large US city and earlier this year after 12 years of being here we were visited nightly by 3 to 4 large raccoons not to mention the neighbors pesky cat which I couldn’t dissuade from napping on our patio furniture. The raccoons enjoyed frolicking in our fountain and taking a dip in our pool. Besides being cute, they’re vicious and carry disease and make a mess everywhere. I visited the big box home improvement stores and was sold all kinds of stuff that would repel these creatures, which did not work even once. They were here literally every night for months about 3:00am, I caught them on my security cameras. I found this device and I only saw the raccoons the first night, and only for a few seconds, they scurried off immediately and I have not seen them once since plus, no cat clawing my furniture or leaving hair. The motion activated sensor works.

I purchased two of these Belidan devices, but different models. This particular model is rechargeable. The other device was not rechargable. This model has a dull stick, making it difficult to get into the ground. The other model has a sharp stick that went into the ground easily. This model seems to have a better motion detector sensor, and goes off easily whenever I walk around the area. However, it didn't stop my repeated critter offender from pooping only a few feet away from it. Therefore, it didn't work.** UPDATE ** The company who supplies this product has provided fantastic service to help me get rid of my issue. I really appreciate them wanting to help me get rid of my problem, and not just sell me a product. I've seen a lot less critters on my patio and have only seen 2 poops on my patio in the last couple of months. Before, I would see poop at least once a week.

Ordered the product, read through the directions completely, set it up exactly as I should, and was happy with the purchase. I woke up this morning to a Mother and doe deer eating the plants about 5 feet in front of the Repellent Device...it was flashing and sounding when I opened the door, and the deer only ran off with my clapping...trust this product could work for others in remote areas, but in Northern NJ, it didn't even disturb them.UPDATE: Since returning these items, the seller has been in contact and provided valuable feedback on the usage of the device, and has gone above and beyond by offering other devices which may further help in repelling the deer. I will update this review as the items are received. So far, customer service has been spectacular.

I have tried everything and the critters were still having a feast on my bulbs and plants. This is the first time something has worked. I have bought four Belidan Animal Repellent Untrasound items. The first two worked so well, I bought two more. When my gardener comes, I have to turn off the Belidans because he is young and can actually hear the sound everytime he moves. Very funny. But it sure keeps away squirrels, raccoons, rabbits, and other critters of that size. It does not bother the bees or butterflies.

It has only been about 5 weeks since I placed it in my rose garden that the deer regularly feed on. About two weeks ago, the deer fed on some of our roses only 10 or 11 feet away from the unit. But our plants seemed to have grown foliage that appeared to block the range of the motion detector. So I repositioned it to be free of obstruction for the motion sensor. Since then the deer have not been back. I am cautiously hopeful it will be effective because the deer have only come into our rose garden that one time whereas over those five weeks the deer would have been here at least 3 or 4 times.

The first repeller I received did not work properly but Horizon Goods immediately sent a replacement which has worked as advertised for the past 6 weeks. No deer have come around my hibiscus! The bottom part of the stake is rounded and did not go into the ground well but since I use the repeller for deer rather than small animals, I just stuck it in the shrub and that has worked fine. It would be better if the stake was a bit taller and had a sharp edge on the bottom to insert easier in the ground. If I need another repeller, I will feel comfortable purchasing another as I am very pleased with it, especially since I can recharge it with my USB cable (one did not come with the device), I don't have to worry about whether there is enough sun to keep it charged since I use it 24/7 during the summer.

I tried this near my bird feeders. It didn't scare away squirrels or raccoons. It didn't bother any of the birds either. I tried different settings, but none worked. One squirrel climbed over it without hesitation.

Wow. So far I'm kinda impressed. I haven't been able to test it on the raccoons yet, but the squirells and birds leave within seconds of sounding the alarm. I hope this works as well with my racoon problems! (The main reason I purchased it) update: works great on raccoons too!!

This is supposed to detect dogs at 8ma 120kg man can walk past within 3m and the motion sensor doesnt detect a thing.Sorry but the product just doesnt work

I bought this unit hoping it would help keep possums, cats and foxes away from my plants.Upon delivery, I put it on USB charge for a whole day to ensure the batteries were fully charged. I placed the unit in my garden; a place that is in direct sunlight. I set the device up as per the instructions provided, and selected the correct setting. It sounds as I walked past during the day.The next day, nothing. The unit is unresponsive. I charged again via USB and returned it to the garden. After a day, again, the batteries are flat. I tried by changing to 3rd party NiMH rechargeable batteries. The same outcome. This cycle repeated until I gave up. The solar panel clearly is for visual aesthetics only and does not add functional benefit to the unit as it does nothing to charge the battery when in direct sunlight (and Australian sunlight at that, where the UV index is often >11).As for the effectiveness of the unit when it actually has some battery charge, my home CCTV has captured foxes and cats walking right up to the unit, whilst the unit is flashing its strobe and emitting its "ultrasonic" sounds. As such, it hasn't deterred them at all. I've tried every setting on the dial to little effect.Would I recommend this unit? No, save your money, it is unfortunately completely useless and ineffective product for the Australian market.
