FL Studio Cookbook

This book has so much Knowledge I wish it had follow up editions! FL Studio can be intimidating to people who are not that familiar with the software. This is the reason for me purchasing this book! I will go back through it to really get a better understanding. Thanks for a great book

If you have FL Studio, you need to get this book. It has everything here, well thought out and easy to access.

This text does cover the basics of starting the voyage into FL Studio. I discovered after this arrived that the cost through Amazon is 20% more that through the publisher's site. I'm sure that some might think that the better text would be FL Studio Bible published via Image-Line through Lulu. However, it is more of a detailed technical user manual, whereas this is laid out as a introductory tutorial. It would be great is someone would combine the tutorial aspects of this type of text with using Image-Line effects and accompanying products (e.g., Harmor, Harmless, Reverb, Newtone, etc.,) to create a handful of different musical compositions, including mixing and mastering those songs to completion. That would be awesome! Maybe I should start, huh?!

OK...This is *not* a "cookbook". A "cookbook" generally assumes that the user has the basic "cooking skills" under their belt and demonstrates how to create tasty new dishes using those skills and the ingredients at hand. Refer to any number of O'Reilly Press 'cookbooks' on various topics (e.g., PhP Cookbook, Raspberry Pi Cookbook, etc.) to understand the difference in content and context of this book and a true 'cookbook'. Rather, this book is an introduction to FL Studio. In fact, it should be retitled as such. As an intro book, its good. In fact, I wish I'd had this book when I started using FL Studio. It would have cut a year off my learning curve (unfortunately, music production is only a weekend hobby due to my 'real life' profession. So, if you're looking for a solid intro to FL Studio, this book is a solid starting place. I can't recommend this to anyone with moderate experience or higher.BOTTOM LINE: Not a cookbook. Should be titled "FL Studio 101" . Solid start block for the FL Studio newbie. Not much content for anyone using FL Studio for more than a few months.

There is much debate over FL Studio tutorials. If you want to great book to explain what you "think" you already know, then this is it.

This book is a keep. I hope I will never loose or damage this book. It taught me a lot!!!!

Out of date. The Fl Studio 2.0 is the current edition but the book was old and was hard to follow.

One should definately get it !!Pros:-1. Very nicely composed book2. Easy to find stuff you need3. Special or new words are bolded4. Tips and tricks are given5. Well organisedCons:-1. This book is only for FL STUDIO 11 Users but it is useful for understanding so not a big deal2. The book is composed or printed in black and white format and you need to download a pdf from a link given to view all the images in the with colorsOtherwise its a great book !!!Would Highly Recommend it !!!

This has everything you need to knowe about using FL studio. I've been using FL studio for a while and decided to buy this to see if I was fully utilizing the software. Lesson learnt. This opened up a whole new world of things that can be done. I regret not getting it earlier.

In elf übersichtlichen Kapiteln werden jeweils Fragen der Art "Wie mache ich ..." beantwortet, illustriert durch Screenshots und versehen mit Verweisen auf ähnliche Themen. Hier werden problemorientierte Anleitungen gegeben und nicht nur Menüpunkte von FL Studio erläutert. Dabei bemüht sich der Autor, auch Grundbegriffe zu erläutern und Hintergrundinfos zu geben.Da es leider kaum Literatur zu FL Studio gibt, fand ich das Buch sehr erfreulich und von der Herangehensweise gut. Es ist verständlich geschrieben und hat mir viele nützliche Tipps gegeben, z. B. zu Edison, mit dem ich aufgrund des FL Studio-Helptextes allein bisher nicht klargekommen war. Leser des Buches möchte ich auch auf die inhaltlich und didaktisch hervorragenden Tutorial-Videos "Mixing in FL Studio" von Beat Studio auf youtube hinweisen, die Themen aus dem Buch vertiefen.
