Fantastic value
I'm still struggling to get my head around the astounding value for money of the VX2. If it were just a USB DAC, it would be difficult to find better at this price. But with the inclusion of the class T amp as well, it becomes a winning combination. The amp section probably at least rivals something like the Cambridge Topaz at twice the price, and a number of amps costing considerably more. OK, it needs efficient speakers as the power is limited, but in a well matched set-up it is tonally pleasing, loud, dynamic and undistorted - if lacking the last word in transparency & detail. After 3 weeks it's been super slick in operation and totally glitch free (via Windows 7 / J River). For the price, you simply could not wish for any more.....

Cracking little amp for digital sources
I purchased this to replace an ageing sherwood home cinema amp that only drove a couple of 2 way pioneer bookshelf speakers. Although you can tell in the picture it's small when delivered it really is light and compact. At a glance I expected to need to fit 4mm plugs to my speaker wires, but the speaker connectors do also work as binding posts for bare end cable. They are close together though so 4mm plugs would be preferable. The unit itself uses an external PSU, has front power and input selector switches along with a volume display and knob, the volume knob also has a bass boost / enhancer switch selected by pressing the volume in.Inputs are digital co-ax and toslink optical, along with a USB connection allowing PC input without a soundcard. Each of these are a selected input from the front, I use my PC on USB along with the toslink optical from a sat receiver. I've not tried the co ax input as yet. When connecting for the first time to a PC no drivers were needed, in Windows 10 it setup without any user involvement. I did have to launch the audio control panel to select output device preference to the VX2 device over the computer soundcard or HDMI outputs. As an amp I've not listened to much domestic kit and no high end purist stuff but have worked in club and bar environments and installed PA in a few sites, the clarity and detail are impressive. It's not going to shake any walls but for it's purpose does really well in my opinion.

Not working after a month
It has worked OK, but now the On/Off button doesn't work and the amp won't turn off. Amazon won't offer a return after 30 days so I appear to be stuck with it, not very happy.

Four Stars
Can't really drive the bigger speakers but it's great quality and feels well made.

Great value for a basic amp with built in USB DAC
Cool little device. Works great in both MacOS Sierra and Windows 10 without having to install any drivers. It's capable of getting pretty loud but the bass is somewhat lacking, at least with the Tannoy M1 speakers I'm using. The bass boost function (activated by pressing the volume control in) helps a bit.

very imperst
after many hours of reading up on digital amplifier's some good some bad I took the plunge, it arrived on time and well packed the main reason for buying this was to get belter sound quality for my desk top pc I am using it a pair of wharfedale diamond's 9.0 and some 2.5mm ofc speaker cables with 4mm gold plugs, down to what it sound like at first the sound was uneven I was a bit disappointed so I check the setting in media player the graphic equaliser was on with a base lift resting to zero on all band and played the same tracks back oh yes that is so much better giving a good balanced sound this set up beet all those gemlike so dedicated computer speaker systems cost a lot moor. next I took the amplifier and hooked it up the my hifi wow this little box almost out preform my amp the only thing that it let it down is the power of the out put if there was a 50 what per channel version I would try one out but for my pc it give room filling sound of very good quality. I would recommend one of the amps for any one wanting good sound

I've plugged it in to some 1978 Kef Model 104s and overall the quality of sound is good. Considering the price though the sound
Firstly this amp is tiny. To get optical, usb and coaxial on one device is a rare thing and makes the VX2 quite special. I've plugged it in to some 1978 Kef Model 104s and overall the quality of sound is good. Considering the price though the sound is amazing. Possibly a little unbalanced across the frequency spectrum but it consistently drives the speakers at any volume. I don't know how many amps I've had over the years but I my opinion this amp beats any second hand integrated amp at the same price point.
