LectroFan - White Noise Machine and Non-Looping Fan Sounds with Sleep Timer (Classic, Black)

I bought the LectroFan out of desperation after having dealt with very noisy neighbors for a few months. Long story short, they would go to bed very late and wake up early and my partner and I could just hear EVERYTHING going on in their apartment which would wake us up. I tried using earplugs and talking to them but nothing worked...so buying the LectroFan was sort of a last resort before reporting my neighbors to the landlord. It took maybe a night to get used to sleeping with the LectroFan on but after the first couple of nights, I was so grateful for it! It gives you a wide range of different types of fan sounds that you can choose from. As many have commented, the device provides constant noise without an obvious looping that a recording might have. PROS: -Easy to use. -Compact and would be easy to travel with (if needed). -Has a variety of sounds so you can choose which one you like the most. -Loud volume. -EFFECTIVE! Can't hear my neighbors or street noise anymore :) CONS: -It was on the expensive side but I honestly don't regret paying the amount I did. It was well worth the amount! OVERALL: I honestly don't know why I went so long without considering this to be an option. I sleep well and don't hear my neighbors anymore. I use this to sleep during the day and am not disturbed. It's so effective that if I go to bed before my partner, it just cancels out the loud noises from him playing video games. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with similar issues!! :)

Like a lot of people who live in flats we have elephants for upstairs neighbours. The elephants above us don't sleep, ever, so they are stomping around at every hour of the day and night. Up to now my wife and I have been using ear plugs to sleep, which are uncomfortable and not always that effective. This is the first and only white noise machine we have had. It does take some getting used to; at first we put in ear plugs as well as having it on, and it took a little while to get used to having this noise constantly in the room. However after just a few nights we didn't need the ear plugs, hardly notice the noise, can quite easily get off to sleep and aren't disturbed in the middle of the night by noisy neighbours! In all honesty we're pretty light sleepers as well, so this is a great result. The product comes with a few adapters including UK plug and a good choice of fan and white noises. It goes quite loud as well so will cover a lot of intrusive sounds. Another review mentions a very high pitched whistling sound it makes when it's turned off and plugged in, it is true but it's the sort that a lot of plugs/electrical products make when they have a current running through it. It may be louder for younger people (it is a very high pitch) but for a lot people it would probably be out of their hearing range anyway. In summary if you are struggling to get to sleep or are getting woken up by noisy neighbours, I would definitely recommend this, it may be a bit strange at first but you will soon notice the difference.

In all my years of buying on Amazon, this product may just be the product that had THE greatest benefit to my life and all for less than £50. Travelling often with work and living in Central London, getting a good night sleep is far from a certainty. I bought this product after moving in with friends temporarily in Soho - where it often felt like the party was taking place in my room. After doing some research, I chose the LectroFan and had satisfaction from the very first night of use. It is actually surprising just how effective this little device is at masking external sounds at whichever frequency. As you are able to choose from quite a number of different fan and white noise sounds, this device allows you to pick the setting to best suit your situation. The fact that the LectroFan does not use a loop - but rather creates sounds realtime using an algorithm - means that your ear adjusts far better to the sound as your brain believes it to be real (a small detail perhaps - but I thought it worthy of note). As previously mentioned, I travel frequently with my work and this device always comes along with me. It doesn't matter how nice a hotel is - you can always be unlucky and get a room that backs onto a train line or in an area with a busy nightlife. LectroFan now makes these considerations unimportant as any outside noise can be masked.

I work the night shift and have noisy neighbors so i bought this to help me sleep not expecting much really. I have to say i was pleasantly surprised. This little speaker does help to cover outside noise and it does help me to sleep. There are plenty of fan and white noises to suit i think everyone's need, but personally i prefer the fan noises, especially fan noise no.3. There aren't many different types of noises to choose from, just two categories: just fan noise and white noise, but what's really good about it, that makes it stand out from other similar products is that the noise is produced by an algorithm, meaning its calculated and produced on-the-fly as it plays, so every time its a little different, and not a plain recording of a noise looping all the time. I'm a fussy sleeper and i think that makes all the difference for me. Small size, design, and optional usb connectivity are pluses but what i would like it to have for that amount of price, is a small lcd screen with basic info like what number of noise is selected, the number of hours remaining etc, but that's really nitpicking. Another small minus is that because the on/off switch is not a mechanical one, if you unplug and plug in the device, it starts playing automatically, which i find kinda irritating. All in all, a very good product, which i use every day, and can highly recommend.

I have an extremely selfish and inconsiderate neighbour that blasts her TV very loudly, what feels like 24/7. Since I bought my first house nearly a year ago, it has been impossible to sleep, or to have a nice quiet evening, or even a quiet start to my day! I have tried so many things - ear plugs, ANC headphones, a cheaper white noise machine etc. Talking to her about it just made it worse. Enter the 'LectroFan ... I tried it out in the lounge first, and the moment I plugged it in, on literally the first white noise sound (which is actually brown noise), the sound of her TV disappeared completely! I had it on all night that night and I could not hear her TV at all. The brown noise is so soothing, it helped me fall asleep faster and helped me to stay asleep. Even my cats love it; they are super calm around it and like to sit really closely to it. I think it will be useful during fireworks season! I will literally have this on all the time now. Looking at my smart meter, it uses hardly any electricity, so it won't cost very much to run. It would be nice to be able to use it wirelessly, but that is the only downside to be honest. Compared with my cheap white noise machine, the volume control is amazing; you can have it really quiet or really loud with lots of levels in between. It will take a while I think to train my ears to stop listening out for the TV noise, as that's all they have heard for a year, but I feel like I can finally relax and I am no longer a prisoner in my own home. Worth every single penny.

This little gadget is the best thing I've bought in ages. I am a very light sleeper and have trouble sleeping with the upstairs flat making noises eg laughing really loudly, and when I used this, it blocked the sounds out so well I assumed that the neighbours had just happened to stop laughing at that point. But it's been like that ever since! I don't know how it works but it's like magic. It has 10 fan sounds and 10 white noises, I only like the fan sounds but there's plenty to choose from. It's a very simple design and is all you need. It's small and looks nice as well, and very portable for holidays or work trips. Also very handy that you can time it so it turns off after an hour. The only thing was that it was missing a part - the USB cable I think (it was a while ago). But these days everybody has lots of USB cables so I just took one from an old charger.

I hummed and hawed over whether to buy the Lectrofan, thinking it might distract me even if it managed to block out my extremely noisy neighbours. Also, there are much cheaper machines available. But I was desperate for some peace and hoped this would be a high-quality investment. I'm so glad I bought it. It successfully blocks out the outdoor noises that were driving me nuts: high-pitched barking, noisy parties, music from loudspeakers, hammering, sawing, drilling, revving motorcycle - all the racket my neighbours make every day in their garden(!). It's preserving my blood pressure and I wish I'd bought it much sooner. The sound emitted by the Lectrofan is constant, like a wall of sound, which I find soothing. There are no mood noises, so you won't be distracted by sudden thunderclaps, twittering birds, or whatever. I'm a light sleeper, but can drop off no problem with the Lectrofan on. I set the timer for it to switch itself off, and I don't wake up at the moment it does this. Not sure how much electricity it consumes as I've only had it for 3 weeks.

I live in a house with a friend, we have a non insulated stud wall separating our rooms. I could hear his tv when it was on, him in the phone etc etc… until I bought this. With the Lectrofan running its all reduced to a murmur in the background. Yes it’s a little bit pricey but in my opinion completely worth it. I was already used to sleeping with a loud dehumidifier and honestly prefer the background noise.

La migliore macchina per il rumore bianco. Fa solo questo ma lo fa con qualità molto elevata. Chi si lamenta del brutto rumore evidentemente non voleva un rumore bianco ma suoni rilassanti della natura ecc. Questo è puro rumore bianco o di ventola che serve espressamente a coprire i rumori e lo fa in modo incredibile, raggiunge un volume elevatissimo senza mai gracchiare. Quando ti abitui risulta anche rilassante. Ma è ovvio che appena lo senti fa impressione pensare di dormirci. Se non dovete combattere con rumori molesti potreste preferire una macchina che fa anche suoni della natura più rilassanti. Ma per il rumore bianco questa è la migliore. È anche importante scegliere il rumore adatto a voi, che sappia coprire i rumori molesti ma che sia ancje abbastanza dolce (ad esempio per me il rumore rosa/verde è insopportabile ma fortunatamente ci sono quelli marrone e bianco oltre a diverse ventole molto rilassanti). How have I managed without this for so long? It might be a lifesaver, Im only on day two so far, but so far so good. I have extremely noisy neighbours and this little machine seem to block out an impressive amount of that noise. I like all the options, it spreads the noise around the room really well. My neighbours are below me so I put the machine close to the floor. I am really happy so far!

I love this machine. I no longer need to wear earplugs to sleep.
