Very good for curious minds
Lovely plasma ball, bought it for my 5yo who saw it at a science fair. He absolutely loved it but unfortunately dropped it and it cracked. He is very interested in STEM and enjoys discovering and creating things.

Plasma ball.
Abit smaller then I was expecting. Works ok with the USB lead supplied but not with batteries for some reason.

Unsafe Product - not Suitable for Children
Bought this for my 9 year old (as one of his birthday presents) as he’s really into his sciences etc. I was initially worried that it could break if it was glass but my wife and I concluded it couldn’t be glass as it was targeted at children, so we went ahead with the purchase. On arrival, set up was easy enough but I was a little underwhelmed by the display (when you place your hands on the globe) as it was a lot more muted than I expected. My son seemed happy enough though he wasn’t as excited as he might have been if the display was more exciting. However, to my surprise my initial concerns about the item turned out to be justified. The globe was made of thin, non-safety glass (please see image) which shattered and left sharp fragments everywhere. Thankfully no one got injured but could have ended very differently because the children could have very easily cut themselves on one of the very sharp shards. Cleaning up the fragments took ages because it shattered everywhere in a carpeted area, so I had to be sure I got every last shard otherwise if the children stepped on them, they’d have needed the GP or more likely, A&E.My conclusion is that on health and safety grounds, this product is not fit for purpose as it is not suitable for children. Other than that, the display underwhelms anyway, so Why take the risk?I know this review may appear harsh on the seller (and I’ve never left such a negative review) but I think the health & safety risk to children merits the warning.
