GREAT small pocket knife
GREAT small pocket knife. I got it to replace an earlier Case knife, that disappeared through a hole in my pocket, that I loved too. The errant one was a 083 Pen Knife. The 045 is a bit chunkier and the blades both pivot on the same side rather than at opposite ends so it took some getting used to. I got used to it the first time I used it (that's when I decided that I love the 045). I particularly like look and feel of the natural bone. The 083 had synthetic grips which were okay but the bone has a more positive hold. The 045 is a fine pocket knife. It's small, lightweight, keeps it's edge well and isn't as chunky or clunky as a larger knife. It's great for everyday use.

This knife is the perfect size one's pocket. I've carried one for years as did my father.
I like its size and look. It's the perfect size for carrying in your pocket all the time. My father told me that a gentleman always carries a pocket knife. This one does the job perfectly. It hold its edge well. They do get lost, so I'd recommend getting and extra on for WHEN it gets lost.

Beautiful little knife.
As usual, Case's execution is flawless. All metal, including the blades, were perfectly polished. The bone is well-jigged, deeply burnt and well-polished. I've owned a few Case knives and none have ever let me down in fit, finish or quality.UPDATE: I've reduced my rating to four stars, as I'm not too impressed with the steel's edge-holding capability. I've carried this knife for a few months now and it sees VERY little use since I only carry it at work and my white-collar job involves no cutting tasks, yet the blades lose their sharpness fairly easily. Regardless, the positive aspects of my original review still stand. I'd still buy this little knife again.
