This is the second weAQUa Plus shower filter we have had and now have them on both showers. We live in an area of incredibly hard water that leaves your skin feeling very dry and your hair feeling brittle after a normal shower flow.Once we attached the shower filter it made a huge difference straight away. My skin feels softer and doesn’t have quite the same urgency for moisturiser. Shampoo and soap lather up more easily and you don’t need to use as much so saving money in that respect.I appreciate the fact that it comes with a spare cartridge though these are also readily available to purchase moving forwards and they are very easy to fit.Fitting the shower filter was straightforward and the plumbing tape was definitely needed.It did leak around the middle initially but this has settled down .Due to the filter being made of plastic it is light weight the filter cartridge is weighty.So far then no issues and I haven’t used it long enough yet to see how long the filters last for.

This is factually incorrect marketing. Calcium sulfite (CaSO_3) is used to neutralize chlorine in hot water. It does not and cannot remove calcium or magnesium ions from hard water.True water softening requires ion exchange (replacing mineral ions with sodium using a salt tank) or Reverse Osmosis. A small inline shower filter simply does not have the capacity or contact time to soften flowing shower water.

Not sure how much any of these filters actually filter, but the build is good, and at very least it traps limescale that otherwise in our region clogs up the showerhead in few days. It has got a bit of space between filter and water inlet, so it traps big chunks there and doesn't drop the pressure. I couldn't use their small netted O-rings for the inlets, as those impede water quite severely.

I'm giving this weAqua shower filter causcious solid 3 stars.Reasons:1. Seems solid quality and upon reading about it, it suppose to make hard water not that hard. BUT2. When I tested the water with strips for hardness, the result was disappointing. While - from the same tap - water that I ran from the tap itself (not shower) came out as 'ok' in terms of hardness(dark blue), the water that runs through the filter, came out as 'high' (meaning - hard). I ran the test 3 times and the readings were coming up the same so not sure what to think about it.3. I haven't noticed any skin or hair benefits yet. I expected, especially with hair, to feel the difference but maybe it needs bit more time? Had the fikter installed for 2 weeks now.4. Installation was easy.I was initially afraid if I can use it as most of pictures show installation on pipes coming out of walls, while I installed between hose and shower head. Fear not - it works.5. There were some side leaks but this was sorted with the provided plumbers tape.6. Water didn't lose the pressure so this is good as well.No odours or anything like that when using the filter.I'm just slightly disappointed as - especially with hair - I expected faster results but not yet.My water test strips are new but obviously not sure if I can rely on them properly. However, using them for checking my other filters (coffee machine, water jug) they do work as expected.

I moved into a building 2 years ago and noticed my hair getting stiffer and stringier, especially in the winter’s . I didn’t put it together with my water quality as I have a filter for my drinking water, but not my shower. I finally realized it was the hard water from the shower. Got this filter as it was straight forward with 3 step filtration. As soon as I showered I could feel a slight difference in the water quality. My hair was noticeably softer and my skin not as dry. I’ve had this for around 2 weeks and with each wash my hair is returning to its former glory. I should note that I dye my greys as well and hope that this will prolong the colour of the dye instead of washing it out as I’ve been experiencing. I would highly recommend this product. It was easy to install and comes with an extra filter as well. Excellent price point for what it’s done.

I received a replacement today, but the item has the same internal scratches, coating defects, and residue as the previous one. It appears to be either used or a returned item sent again as new. This is the second time I receive a defective unit!
