This was a perfect kit to add to our hydroponic herb garden gift for father's day. They are so excited about this thing, they are sure to go through supplies quickly. The sponges fit perfectly in the garden that we got, nothing leaked and everything covered the spits. They were easy to use, soak the sponge, plant the seed and put it in the garden. These function exactly the way we wish for them to.

I've been using an Aerogarden for years and have always purchased their refills. My MIL gave me a bunch of seeds from her garden though, so I decided to try growing those this time. This kit doesn't come with instructions, but the basics are to fill out a label and put it on a plastic pod holder - then use the tweezers to add 3-5 seeds to each pod, add that to the plastic pod holder and put it in your Aerogarden. Some videos said to soak the seed pods first, but I found that was unnecessary because they get absorb water quickly and get wet enough on their own when you add them to your Aerogarden. The soil pods are really sponge-y and some of them didn't have very deep holes in them. I used the tweezers to pull out a bit of sponge so I had somewhere to place the seeds, and that worked great. I loved having the tweezers to pick up individual seeds, it was very helpful. The plastic pod holders are sturdy and seem to be good quality. They are a bit different in size and shape than the standard Aerogarden pod holders though. When you place them into the stand, the plastic on the side seems to come down a bit too far, and covers the water spout. The soil pods still get wet, it just takes a bit longer because the water is running down the plastic, and soaking it from the bottom rather than immediately at the top. It hasn't been a problem for growing seeds, it's just something I noticed. The label stickers are pretty flimsy and don't stick very well if you leave them whole. I wrote the name of the seed on the label and tore off only what was written on, and that seemed to work better. My little seeds started sprouting within one week, so I think these are going to work great. If something changes, I'll come back and update this review, but as for now I would recommend these, and will continue buying them for my own garden starts.

Awesome pods! Great value, just what we needed.

These seem interchangeable with the name brand ones, but they don’t seem to deliver the same results. Half of these I’ve planted didn’t sprout, can’t figure out why.

This kit came with everything needed to start or redo an aero garden (except seeds). The parts fit perfectly into the aero garden (not included). Seemed like a good value for a home indoor garden setup.

Exact for necessary for my Aerogarden.
