A very good book containing a huge amount of information. Subjects range from basic anatomy and botanical terms, shading techniques, composition, pen and ink washes and colour mixing followed by examples of botanical painting. Some experience of the subject would be useful to get the maximum benefit from this book but if nothing else, it is lovely to look at and full of inspirational ideas.

I think this book would be a valuable addition to anybody's collection of botanical art books. I think a beginner would learn a lot from this book and a more experienced artist would find it useful too. It is well presented with clear explanations and very good drawings and paintings of plants and flowers accompanying the instruction.

This book was well worth buying. It's full of really helpful techniques for botanical illustration using different media and is packed with tips, advice and information, not only on drawing or painting but also about the plants themselves. It's also beautifully illustrated. Although it's a second hand copy, it's in very good condition.

Although quite an old publication, it sets out botanical art very clearly and informatively.The different sections are very good, and cover the whole range of different styles, techniques and media.I am currently using it to learn pen and ink work, and, by using it , am pleased with the results.

Delivery was rapid and book is as described - I can't wait to try out the exercises. As a relative beginner it is just what I needed and gives step-by-step instructions for the projects.

Excellent book, well documented and illustrated, the different techniques well explained. Good condition for a second hand.
