Very nice shovel. A bit on the heavy side but it's tough and cuts through roots easily!

The shovel has great root cutting teeth and is constructed to take a beating. The only problem I see is the weight, but that is understandable seeing the ruggedness of the overall tool.

The Good: This shovel works well to dig those mildly rooted areas without too much trouble. It’s affordable as compared to some of the other brands but just as strong, comfortable to use, and doesn’t feel like it will break any time soon.The Bad: It’s a bit on the heavier side which becomes more apparent after carrying it around for a few hours. Some paint came chipped off in some areas and half of the CKG decal was missing. I have a feeling that with extended use over time much more paint will chip off.

Used it a few times, worked good in field with lots of stones. Haven't used it around roots yet.

Good quality at a reasonable price! Very light! (Carbon fiber handle) I was looking for something strong and lightweight for my detecting adventures.. Don’t expect the handle to stay all shiny and scratch free tho, if you use this as it’s meant to be used, the handle will get a tad beat up looking. BUT… It’s a tool. Soooo.. That’s expected. Would buy again
