Some minor build issues but impressive final product!
As a finished product, this is a pretty cool block set. The quality isn't Lego and the pieces don't have the same smooth connection that Lego does. The instructions are a little confusing at first and takes a bit to get used to their methodology. With Lego it shows the new pieces in place on the model in full color. With this set the new pieces are in full color but they are floating above the set with arrows showing where they go. It is sometimes confusing especially when each step can use up to 20-30 pieces at one time. The instructions also start off with 3 or 4 steps per page going from top left to bottom left to top right then bottom right. Then for the last part of the build it changes and it goes top left to top right to bottom left to bottom right. If you aren't watching the numbers and fall into habit it confuses you. In several steps it shows many pieces at once but it will require to put certain pieces on first in order to get them on. Some of the connections are a little weak and can be tricky to assemble. Despite the many limitations mentioned above, the final product looks awesome. There were also some unique pieces and building techniques that differ from Lego that made it enjoyable. I highly recommend this set!

Fun LOTR building Set
A great LOTR build Set, and it was fun building the entire set. The instructions are not the best, and have to look at the next steps to figure out where the pieces go exactly.

I was blown away with the quality of this set. The design is epic and the attention to detail is exquisite! The spiders, chains, and fire really bring this scene to life. This is the first set that I feel is just as good as the big name competitor. The instructions are easy to follow. The pieces easily snap into place and stay put. It is very structurally sound and large enough to make a real statement. It looks amazing in my collection. I cannot believe the value of this set! It even came with a miniature. I did alter a few things. I moved the sign for better visibility and glued his hat on so he has the full wardrobe.

Great quality for the price
Great quality for the price and easy for my 7 year old to build with a little help. Added to our other LOTR Legos!

Good overall. One brick missing and one brick defective on my set.
If you look at my last photo, one of the large flat black bricks was defective and it’s molding. But luckily, it was outside of the radius that would cause it to be a problem in construction. It is unsightly though. Thankfully, there were two of this part so I was able to add the bad one towards the back out of sight. Plus, actual mini figure style figure that is not advertised with a set likely so that the big bad L word doesn’t go after them. Not bearded, but you can swap the long hair for a wizard hat. The ball joints on the balrog hold well but the block swivel elbows are too loose. Overall 4 out of 5 stars. You can tell there’s something slightly off compared to the perfection of Lego brand. But at the end of the day, there was only one visibly flawed brick. But then there’s the issue of a missing block. Some extra blocks are included. But the part that I was short on is not one that had any duplicates, even though it’s one of the smaller pieces and easier to lose. I was missing one of two gray pegs and had to rob one of the two blue pegs that construct the block made wizard to finish the base. With Lego brand of course you can simply order the individual part for free if you’re ever missing anything. But that’s not necessarily going to be the case on a set like this. Decent height, and since it does come with an actual proper size mini figure it would give you an actual idea of the scale.

Awesome gift
Got this for a gift exchange me and my buddies do. My buddy is a big LOTR fan and he really enjoyed this gift. He said it was one of the most challenging builds he has done but loves it and says it looks great all put together!

Great build, especially for the price!
I enjoyed this build a ton! I, and everyone I showed this to got a kick out of the brick "definitely not Gandalf" wizard (and it also came with a minifigure. I love how these off main brand sets are labeled. "You Shall Not Pass" from the "Magic Rings" series. Definitely not Lord of the Rings. The build went pretty smoothly. The base bridge portion was awesome, but the Balrog was a little harder to fit together. Not terrible, but that would be my only complaint. The pieces also fit with Lego, which is always a plus. Still, for the price this set is a must have for any Magic Rings lovers!
