Is this product sticky backed? How do you fasten the folded edges?

No, it's not sticky backed at all.I lay a piece of this plastic down on a table, desk or whatever (a piece cut slightly longer in length than your dust jacket).I take the dust jacket off the hardback book and place it face down on top of the plastic.Then I fold the plastic over the top & bottom edges of the dust jacket & I use an iron on a low heat setting to iron the fold into a nice crease.The plastic stays in place on the dust jacket, protects the book really well & looks smart.This all might sound a bit daft to some (using an iron an all), but I have always done it this way & it always works PLUS there is no need to use any sellotape at all.('Course it's not the stuff to use on paperback books, I suppose that's what the sticky backed stuff is for).Hope this is of help :)

Hi, does the film protect against UV please ?

The film is a polyester film used in archives for the protection of items against paper-damaging environmental conditions, but it does not protect against UV. UV protective film is available for windows etc., but I think this is a stick-on application that would cause damage to a paper surface over time.
