TAYLOR TECHNOLOGIES INC R-0013-E CYANURIC ACID 16 OZ

Been chasing a weird cloudy pool for weeks and couldn't figure out why until I realized our generic test strips were giving inconsistent cyanuric acid readings compared to what our chlorine usage suggested should be happening. Switched to the actual Taylor liquid reagent to get a real number instead of guessing off strips. Test itself is straightforward once you know the process, added the reagent to the sample and watched for the dot to disappear at the right dilution, gave us a much clearer picture of where our stabilizer levels actually stood versus the strips that had been misleading us. Turned out our CYA was creeping higher then we thought, explains a lot about why our chlorine hadn't been working as efficiently lately. Bottle seems consistent test to test, no weird variation in results retesting the same water a day apart just to double check ourselves. Concentration matches what our reference chart expects, so calculations for dilution ratios came out clean without needing to fudge numbers. Only complaint is the test procedure itself takes a little getting used to if you've never done a turbidity style test before, definitely read the instructions carefully the first time rather then eyeballing it like you might with test strips. Genuinely glad we made the switch though, would recommend to anyone whose test strips seem to be giving readings that don't match their pool's actual behavior. Size was for a lifetime but the price was right.

Excellent value for plentiful supply of one of the pool chemicals that goes quickly for those who do frequent water testing.

This bottle holds 16 fl ounces/473ml, the Taylor CYA test takes just 7ml, so you get about 67 tests per bottle. The bottle currently is selling for $8, so each test just cost about $0.12. Ignore the expiration date. My last bottle lasted 8 years (I don't use chlorine tabs so don't need to test often). The bottle I just bought gave me the same test result. (I also had the Leslie's Pool Supplies store test my water several times during the period to make sure I was doing the tests correctly.)

Bought two of these thinking they were cyanuric acid because both the product link and heading say so. It is not! It is actually the reagent to test for cyanuric acid in a Taylor test kit. There is nothing wrong with the product, so I didn't rate it down, but you have to look on the page it's on in the list of features to find out it's actually the liquid reagent, not the granular cyanuric acid. I realized it was liquid upon receiving it which should have been a tip. Instead, I assumed it might be liquid cyanuric acid and dumped it in the pool. It goes without saying that I should have checked the product label before making any assumptions. The point here is unless Amazon does the right thing and changes the product page heading and link to actually clearly state what it really is, you need to check out the description carefully. There is likely no intention to deceive, but it is quite deceptive nevertheless. The fact that it is from Taylor also should have been a tip because Taylor makes test kits. Just be careful until or unless Amazon makes the needed change to the heading and link to state that it is the test kit reagent for cyanuric acid. Hope this warning helps somebody avoid the mistake I made that will now cost me the price for the item.

Taylor Technologies products are my go-to for stability and reliability. I have several test kits to keep my pool balance myself. Saves me from traveling to the pool store so often. I take a water sample in the beginning of the season; after that I can rely on my at- home testing reagents and kits. And… I am a 75 yo grandma.
