Epoxy Putty Sculpt Clay, 2 Part A & B for Sculpting, Modeling, Building, and Repairing, 1 Pound, Natural

I had a resin model fail the other day in such a way that his arm was only partially printed. After already having three previous complete failures with this model, I was NOT printing it again! So I went looking for something I could use to fix it. I knew about Green Stuff, but for the amount you get, that was just too expensive. I found this and, being familiar with JB Weld - a similar product - in my shop, I thought I'd give this a try. I am so glad that I did! Mixing in small amounts, it's difficult to judge equal portions, but if you will use a balance beam scale, it's much easier. The putty is kinda stiff in the containers, especially in my perpetually cold home, but you can (supposedly) heat it up to make it more pliable. Wetting your hands helps keep it from sticking to your fingers as you knead it. I used silicone clay sculpting tools (also wet with water) to smooth it out (otherwise, this stuff does show fingerprints easily!) and got excellent results. Unlike JB Weld, which has MAYBE a five minute working window, this gives you PLENTY of time to mold, shape and form. That being the case, though, you do need to be careful. I don't know how many times I put my finger in one area while working on another and had to redo it. After shaping the little guys' arm, I decided to use it to fill the drain holes and a few of the more serious support scars, too. Twenty four hours later, everything was a hard as a rock, yet easily sandable with 220 grit wet sandpaper. There was ZERO shrinkage and it holds fast to the resin. I honestly don't know how I've been 3d printing for all these years without this stuff! Definitely a two thumbs up recommendation!

I currently don’t have access to a kiln so this was a very convenient clay for me. It’s also slow drying which personally I love because it allowed to continue to work with the sculptures for quite a while. When the clay finally finishes drying painting it was also a lovely experience. The clay dries very smoothly and has no residue that I’ve found with other clays. It takes paint beautifully and very much shows the vibrancy of the colors. The clay dries very strong but feels very light in weight. I’m very happy with this clay and look forward to using it again. Clean up was also a breeze since it washes off with water. It’s perfect for artists of any level whether you’re a badass sculptor or just looking to have fun with some clay I recommend this clay. For the value of what I paid I was able to create two sculptures and still have half my clay left. A little definitely goes a long way. The clay itself has a little bit of a funky smell but it goes away as it air dries and cures. It does get a little gloopy if you mix it with too much water so watch out how wet you get the clay. But other than that this clay is truly a fun clay for all. I highly recommend.

was not optimal for what i needed it for. i was out of aves apoxie sculpt for working on model horses. been over a decade since i ordered and had a bit of sticker shock at the prices, so i decided to try something cheaper. for the level of detail i need, this stuff is way too sticky. it says to wet your fingers to prevent it sticking, but if you get water on the model, it won't stick to the model at all. i was not able to smooth it out as well as i can with the aves which left more sanding after curing... which also did not go well. with the aves, when i sand it makes a fine powder that just falls off. this stuff caked up in my sand paper. it's possible it needed longer to cure (in which case i'd say another con is that it takes longer to cure). ***tried sanding on a part that had been curing for over 12 hours. it's still caking up the sandpaper, but not as bad. so i guess it needs more time to cure and it's still going to gunk up the tools. however, i think it will be perfect for projects that need a lot of filler that i don't want to waste the more expensive stuff on. so it certainly will not go to waste and i would buy it again for that purpose as it is less than half the cost of the more expensive ones

A truly great product: - Easy to mix - Pliable for hours - Models well - Adheres well (restoration work) - Hardens like a rock but sands and paints well after hardening I am currently restoring a 1940s era Nativity piece. It is chalkware and I am still doing the final fine-tuning, but look at the results in the picture! The main area is the left hand where fingers were completely missing.

The product is very firm out if the container but you can soften them using a microwave or putting the containers in hot water .. there is a slight chemical smell when you open the container but that dissipates quickly. They mix evenly quickly, there is a tacky feel but using some water on yiur hands clears that up. There's no sagging on vertical or horizontal positioning, and doesn't deform while setting up. When fully cured I was able to easily sand it using different grits of sand paper, sanding it to a decent polish, and even worked well with a rotary tool. Took great to paints, both spray and brush, and also worked well with decoupage (wood glue and tissue paper) it doesn't become brittle or flaky, holds up to medium distance falls, 6' onto tile floor. I recommend starting with small batches as it seems to harden faster than others of the same style. Be careful where you set the curing unused material as it will bond with just about anything.

This stuff is awesome. I bought a few different brands of epoxy putty for some sculpture detail corrections and by far this is the winner. This stuff beats all the "popular" most recommended brands.

I had a lamp that had plastic palm fronds for a shade . One broke off at the top. I tried glue but it had to hold all the weight of the frond. I saw this on the repair shop. Two ingredient epoxy . This worked . Very strong repair . Needs some cosmetic fix but it works .

honestly has been awful to work with. made everything much more difficult to use. It's incredibly sticky, you cant touch any part of it while you work on another part or it sticks to your skin or gloves, ripping off of your project. Wearing gloves reduces the stickiness however its much harder to work with. Constantly sticks to my tools, immediately sticks to any surface and does not hold its shape if you did as the limited instructions say and keep your hands moist. It slides off whatever im working on. the instructions just tell you how to warm the epoxy, how to keep your hands moist, mixing it and tha'ts about it. There's no instructions or information on curing time either so i wasted a lot working on a tiny portion of a project. It took so long to do because it would stick to everything but my project, trying to work separately just made it come out sticky and droopy, wasting more time and product. I chose this over the usual epoxy sculpt because it was a bit cheaper. For some reason they are also in these little plastic bags., The part B comes out fine but part A is incredibly sticky and your have to scrape it from the bag. Edit: I did forget to mention the important part. WHen it does dry, it is light and durable, you can sand it and it does stick well once dry. Still overall, working with it is not great, it does dry well and is light compared to when it still isnt cured
