Bakuman Box Set

An authentic product. A great story to read.

The quality is great. The box set looks soo cool, I think my favorite manga box set looks-wise. About the manga, it's the struggle of two kids trying to make it in the manga industry. You do gain a greater understanding of how manga, particularly shonen, are made. It's also very motivating seeing these two people dedicating every waking hour of their youth (late teens to early twenties) to make their impossible dream come true. The characters are good and it never gets boring (as expected from Death Note mangaka). The art is simple, yet captivating. When compared to anime, there is not that much of a difference, but I think manga is a bit more expressive and the standout panels hit better. Also, reading a manga inside a manga is something.

As a manga & anime fan, and a fan of Death Note, I was pleased to discover another series by Ohba and I ordered it as soon as I was done reading the synopsis. This is definitely worth the money as each book in the box averages at about INR 240 or just over $3 USD. As for the story, I couldn't ask for better progress and the ending is perfect. Don't want to spoil anything, so I'll stop here, but more or less everyone of every age can enjoy this amazing adventure through Sueisha and the manga making world.

I bought this as a birthday present for my best friend. And he loves it!!! I too had the opportunity of going through it. And I would highly recommend it. Very good quality and if your looking for a good read. Go for it.

It was for my daughter only. So, I am unable to give feedback about inside of the books.

Very pleased with the product. It arrived better than expected. Volumes 1-20 come in a nifty box complete with a handle for ease of carrying. It also comes with a bonus poster and a bonus comic from another series. I'm so looking forward to reading them! Excellent and inspiring series with fantastic artwork! I do not regret this purchase!

Ordered from Amazon itself for €100. Came in great condition. Ordered because it was so cheap, but the story is excellent and got me hooked.

Moritaka Mashiro is a normal Jr High student who is suffering from a lack of direction in life. Fortunately for him, fellow schoolmate Akito Takagi has a plan to change that. He wants Mashiro to team up with him to become a mangaka. With Takagi writing the stories and Mashiro handling the art, it is their goal to climb their way to the top! For extra motivation, Mashiro intends to marry the girl of his dreams once their goals are achieved. Bakuman is an awesome series. I had never given much thought to the manga industry (though I do read lots of manga), but it was absolutely fascinating to learn about. The business side, the creative process, the sheer luck - so much fun. But of course, if this were just a textbook for learning about manga it wouldn't be very entertaining. But the characters, their interactions, friendships, and rivalries were so much fun. Bakuman is definitely in my top 5 favorite manga series. The volumes are really dense, so even though it is 20 volumes, it has about twice the amount of text as a normal Jump series of similar lengths. Seriously, I normally read a volume of manga in 20-30 minutes, but Bakuman took a full hour for each one. And they were never boring. Several nights in a row I would stay up late finishing a volume, or starting a new one because i just had to know what happened next. This box set is really nice. This is my first time buying a manga box set and I am very pleased. Not only was it much cheaper than buying the individual volumes, it comes in a cardboard box that opens up to show all 20 volumes nicely lined up. Even better, it comes with a bonus comic (a short Otter Man Num 11 story) and a small poster (revisable).
