Best Mac alternative charger.
I've had a couple Mac chargers in the past, this is by far the best magsafe 1 chargers out there. Paid around $19 which is a little more than average for a generic Mac charger but well worth it. Quality is definitely there but the thing I noticed the most was it doesn't get hot like some of the others I've had. Very happy!

Only 85w MagSafe v1 charger I could find that allowed Apple style extension cable
This was the only OEM replacement 85 watt charger for the MagSafe v1 MacBook Pro from mid-2012 and prior, at least the only one sold on Amazon when I purchased this. The connector cannot be seen very well from the pictures, but the MagSafe v1 connector is typically L shaped and has two large contacts on either side of a smaller middle connector inside the plug that connects to the laptop, like this configuration (**.**) The later model MacBook Pros use a v2 or v3 connector that will not work to charge these MacBook Pros from before the middle part of 2012 because the connector is T shaped and has a different style magnetic pin configuration on the plug that connects to the laptop. If this is confusing, blame Apple for not having clear model number delineations. This 85 watt charger is for 15" and larger screens but will work for laptops that only need 65 watts of power like the 13" MacBook Pro models from the same time period, prior to mid-2012 manufacturing dates. Most importantly, this is the only charger available that can use a standard Apple extension cable so the transformer box doesn't have to connect directly to the wall, you can slide off the US style 110 volt two prong plug and put the extension onto it from your original charger so that the transformer box is in the middle of the power cable, which makes your power connection twice as long. You can also buy these power extension cables to a three prong 110 volt US style in another Amazon listing if you don't have one, well worth the slightly higher cost in my opinion. So far it has worked fine to charge a 15" MacBook Pro and a 13" MacBook Pro from early 2012.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Buy this instead of the apple branded one.Reinforce the problem areas near the magnetic attachment and your good to go.

Still working
This worked out perfectly. I have had it for a while and bang it around and sort of abuse it a little. It still works great, so great product!
