Useless. Tested negative as I was in denial but I am positive. Saw GP next day who confirmed this. She said these tests are unreliable and it's also why blood diagnosis isn't done by drs. A swab can be taken and sent to a lab via your sexual health clinic. If you're like me & ashamed, in denial all those fun things please speak to someone who knows what they are talking about. Test is easy to use once you get over the highly confusing leaflet. I guess what can you expect for this price.

Da es hier nirgends geschrieben steht: Dieser Test ist für HSV1 und HSV2 bestimmt. Es handelt sich um einen IgM Test!!! Ein IgM-Antikörper-Nachweis gegen Herpes-simplex-Viren (HSV) im Blut deutet auf eine frische oder reaktivierte Herpesinfektion hin. IgM-Antikörper sind die erste Antikörperklasse, die nach einer Infektion vom Körper gebildet wird. Ein positiver HSV-IgM-Test kann sowohl bei einer Erstinfektion als auch bei einer Reaktivierung einer latenten Infektion auftreten. Ein negatives Ergebnis schließt eine frische oder reaktivierte Infektion jedoch nicht sicher aus, da IgM-Antikörper nicht immer nachweisbar sind. Leider KEIN IgG Test!!!!!!!!!!!!! IgG-Antikörper sind ein Hinweis auf eine durchgemachte Infektion mit dem Herpes-simplex-Virus, entweder Typ 1 oder Typ 2. Der Nachweis von IgG-Antikörpern bedeutet, dass der Körper einmal Kontakt mit dem Virus hatte und eine Immunantwort entwickelt hat. Diese Antikörper bleiben lange im Körper erhalten, auch wenn keine akuten Symptome mehr vorhanden sind
