Fast, reliable scanner that makes going paperless easy
I purchased the Brother ADS-1350W Wireless Compact Desktop Scanner to digitize paperwork and reduce the amount of physical documents I keep around, and it has been a great addition to my setup. The scanner is compact enough to sit on a desk without taking up much space, but it still delivers impressive performance. Setup was straightforward and connecting it to Wi-Fi made it convenient to scan documents directly to my computer without needing to plug in cables each time. The scanning speed is excellent for such a compact device. It handles up to 30 pages per minute, and the single-pass double-sided scanning works exactly as advertised. This feature alone saves a lot of time when scanning multi-page documents since both sides are captured at once. The automatic document feeder runs smoothly and feeds pages consistently without jamming. I’ve used it for receipts, invoices, and multi-page documents, and everything scans quickly with clear, sharp results. Another thing I appreciate is how easy it is to integrate into a digital workflow. It makes organizing documents and storing them electronically simple, which is great if you’re trying to move toward a paperless office or home setup. Considering the speed, wireless capability, and compact design, it also feels like good value for the money. Pros - Fast scanning speeds up to 30 ppm - Single-pass duplex scanning saves a lot of time - Compact design fits easily on a desk - Wireless connectivity is convenient - Reliable automatic document feeder - Good value for the performance and features Cons - Smaller feeder capacity means very large scan batches may need to be split up Overall If you want a compact, fast, and dependable document scanner, the Brother ADS-1350W is a solid choice. It’s easy to set up, scans quickly, and makes organizing documents digitally much easier.

I'll never buy another Brother product in my life!
I wish I could give this product and this company no stars. I had a Brother scanner that was in good working order, but when I got a new computer, I couldn't find a driver for it anywhere. Brother no longer made it available on their website. It was a model 1000. I'm not saying it should have been revised. I'm saying it wasn't available at all. This is what they call built-in-obsolescence. Then when I got this new one, it took me 2.5 hours to install it to my windows 11 Dell laptop 5500. I started out with the easy install and finally got it working by going counterintuitively to their instructions. Once I paid no attention to the instructions, I got it working. I have an MBA from a major state university and graduated first in my class. Oh, I almost forgot. They kept prompting me to register the &*(^ thing before I ever got it running, presumably so I couldn't return it to Amazon. I will never buy another Brother product in my life!. Two stars for the printer, minus one star for the swindle on not supporting a printer that worked fine, but for no driver of any kind being available.

Highly recommend
This is very easy to use. If you put in a bunch of photos, it scans them very quickly. It’s small and I can work with it easily in my recliner. The pictures it scans come out great. Very very happy with purchase.

Brother iPrint and Scan software is terrible
The device itself is OK and it produces reasonable scans of documents. However, the software is horrible. It is sluggish and rigid. Start up time for the software is very slow. You cannot customize the workflow easily. For example, I want to press a button on the scanner to scan the pages to a PDF, and then open a window to save it to a filename of my choice. This apparently cannot be done with the Brother software, so I am going to find other free software to use with this scanner. I do not recommend this product mainly because of the Brother iPrint and Scan software.

Hard to know how it works.
It was hard for me to understand how it works. The only way to scan your data to your computer is through wifi. Does not work with Hotspot. The other way to scan a document is by using a usb flash drive attached to the scanner and then you will be able to transfer your data to your computer.

It is worth it...
I bought this item because I saw it on the New York Times wirecutter and they recommended it so I thought I might as well give it a go and its great. The scanner itself is really light and it is really portable it only needs to be powered by a USBC cord which you can plug in directly to your laptop or PC. if your device dose not have a USBC port you can 1. buy a adapter or 2. Buy a USBC to USBA cable which is what I did. Just be aware that the unit dose not come with another cord besides a USBC. Otherwise the unit is Easy to use, Scans great, Works well and is more Accurate than using my phone.

Excellent scanner
I like it! Very easy to set up. Just stand it up, open the cover, push power, and push the WPS button to ask to join my LAN. It is fast! So very fast! And the scan both sides in a singe pass is wonderful. Drop a stack of papers in and let it rip. I am using it on a MacBook. The downloadable software picks it up and does a good job with basic scans. Would recommend.

2025 Mac Users Beware!
Hoooo boy, is the ADS-1350W a bad recommendation for Mac users in 2025. On an M4 Mac Mini, I could not get the software to properly set up the one-touch buttons…or even scan successfully. Yes, I can use Apple’s Image Capture and it “works” but not well. Receipts are difficult to detect in the document feeder to enable the [Scan] button, there’s no provision for long receipts, and they scan with giant black margins instead of trimming to only the scanned document. And don’t even get me started on wi-fi. You cannot control it from the software. If your router doesn’t have a WPS button (and mine doesn’t)…you can’t configure the wi-fi. I unfortunately don’t have a PC to test (can’t install software on my work laptop), and while I can think of a few ways to kludge together a WPS workaround for wi-fi, but that’s far beyond the scope of what I’d expect a non-tech-savy person to comfortably accomplish. Bummer, because this ticks several boxes for me, the most important by far being its single USB-C for power and data. I was looking to get away from my old and no longer supported ScanSnap scanner with its awkward (but good) software and a requirement for both power and a non-USB-C cable…but alas, the ADS-1350W is getting returned and I’m replacing it with a ScanSnap ix1300 instead. If all you ever scan are full 8x11 sheets, this probably can meet your needs on a Mac with the built-in Image Capture. If you want to scan receipts of varying dimensions, or use the app’s features, you should probably look elsewhere.

Worst brother product I ever used
Returned this scanner so fast. Absolute headache to try to have it connect to wifi or even power on. They don't even include the power cable you have to buy that separately!

Useful, modern tool for scanning in my old photo collection, and for business work
One of the things that has been on my mind lately as a creative running a photography business, was to take my old physical photo collection and scan them all into a digital record as a backup and for future longevity. I decided to give this ADS-1350W compact desktop scanner from brand BROTHER a try to help me navigate this task. This particular option features no touchscreens or any other bells and whistles, but what it does offer is a fast and responsive setup with easy to navigate buttons, and of course a wireless setup for fast connectivity directly to my Mac for easy transfer of scans, so it is very convenient. BROTHER also offers cloud services, and while I personally have my own methods of backup, this is still a solid option for many people looking for easy, dependable storage. As it stands, this is a very functional, modern alternative to my old flatbed scanner on my crappy printer, and it produces a valuable service for me in my business, and I could not be happier with it. 5 stars.
