This is my stepbrother's new favorite version of catan!

Honestly this game blows all the other Catan games out of the water. The storage box came with lots of spots for all the different pieces so it’s not just all slapped together in one big box. It’s super fun, game pieces and cards are mint and my family loved playing this over the holiday week!

They just keep coming out with good, solid, editions! This version is a new take on the standard, as it is a modern world with current thoughts and processes. We never get tired of Catan in any format!

I've been playing Catan for well over 10 years now and this is by far the expansion that best keeps the spirit of the original Catan intact, while adding new mechanics and gameplay that does not extend runtime or saturate gameplay. This new iteration of Catan forces you to be methodical about when and how much you should expand, with the constant push and pull of wanting to develop while also avoiding the game's penalties for having a high carbon footprint. All in all, a great twist on an old classic.

I actually thought this was an expansion mostly because of the name "New Energies" which sounds like an expansion and even the box graphics are very similar to Catan and the expansions. This is also a slightly heavier game than Catan in weight and complexity. The game play is very similar to Catan with some additions, if you have played regular Catan this will be very easy to learn. The theme did not seem to fit as well as regular Catan and the game has more of an abstract feel to me. The component quality is the same as Catan which is to say average. Had I not played regular Catan I would probably like this a little more and it is still a good game.

There is no way this is a new item. The box is very damaged and clearly been open. Pieces have been punched out of there sheets and are missing. The shipping box was in great shape so it was packaged this way.

Love the game! Was worried about another review that was missing pieces but mine had everything!
