Motor, motor on the ceiling.
Good fan motor and was easy to install. Had to YouTube it to install because I don’t know how to do anything. Replaced an old bathroom ceiling exhaust fan motor that was making noise. A life saver because an electrician would have charged 3x what I paid for the motor. Which was about $80 at the time.

Perfect replacement for old 1980s fan that wore out. However, it is fairly loud.

We have three Broan bathroom exhaust fans in our condo. They are all beginning to fail because of a design defect. The plastic fan is attached to the motor shaft only by an interference fit--it is merely pressed onto the shaft. After 20 years of stopping and starting, the fit becomes loose, allowing the fan to slide down the shaft and strike the housing. You will know that your unit has failed when you hear the fan hitting something every few seconds. This replacement part solves that problem by splining the motor shaft, which creates a much tighter and more secure fit.The part fits perfectly and is very easy to replace--remove the electrical plugs and one screw, change the old fan assembly for the new one, replace the screw and reconnect the the part. It arrived only two days after I ordered it. The only downside is the this part is now made in China, just like everything else.

Misleading label, not aligned sockets hole
1) It has 5 sones, not 3.5 sones as advertised on the photo2) The hole for the sockets is not aligned with respect to the sockets (also compared to the original part). It is shifted by 0.1-0.2 inch which doesn't allow proper installation.
