This tiny flash drive has read speeds that are almost as fast as a full sized SATA SSD with a USB 3.0 adapter, while being 1/10th the size of an SSD. Yes, the write speeds are not as good, but it's a flash drive! As far as I'm concerned, this is amazing performance for something this small. As an added bonus, the metal housing helps dissipate heat, which I'm sure will improve lifetime reliability over cheap plastic flash drives. Overall, highly recommended!

I really hope I never have to amend this review. Just started using it an hour ago, but so good I had to share. For background, I got this to replace my Sandisk Ultra, a plastic USB3, that i think died early due to heat, as it is only 1.5 years old and used rarely. This comes formatted to exfat in one partition. I think this is best for Windows and Linux compatabilty as well as speed. Using Linux DISKS... benchmark, as new, did hit 400 mb read and 80 mb write speeds. Real life, a 20 gig file transfer never fell below 65 mb/sec. The maybe scary part. After writing 50 gig, in 20+- minutes, it was really hot. I think little girl fingers would not want to touch it for more than 3 seconds. This could be good though. I am hoping Samsung used the aluminum case to transfer heat away from the internals, which is my best guess as to why the Sandisk died. If not, this one may also die a premature death. For background, I use this for Ventoy, allowing me to run, test, backup, restore and repair Windows and Linux systems with or without a working hard drive. With speeds up to 400 MB/s, it performs smoothly and consistently. It is advertised as waterproof, shockproof, and heatproof, and most of that seems accurate. The only downside is that it gets very hot after long or heavy use. Despite that, it has never affected performance or reliability in my experience. For anyone who needs a compact, tough, and fast flash drive for travel or daily work, this is an excellent choice. It easily earns its reputation as one of the most durable drives on the market.

~60 MB/s write speed in real world use. That's the real number I think people want to know. Forget this "400MB/s" idea. Nice design.

You can actually boot an OS such as Linux very well with this USB drive. In my opinion these are great value for the money. I have a few of these and not a single issue, compatible with MS and Linux, no problem. Being versatile with such a large capacity is ideal for most people. If used continuously with extreme loads they will get a little warm, but I had no problem with overheating.

Samsung Bar plus 3.1 USB flash drive (128 GB) is the best. It may be more money that other flash drives but it holds some much and uploads it almost instantaneously. With the $$

Pretty tough given daily use connected to tv playing videos for the kids. Doesn’t heat up too badly and hasn’t failed yet.

The product is made of metal and feels premium. The metal body makes the product more efficient with heat transfer. The read speed is not as said but the write speed is as per the website. I think it will provide more snappiness when used as a rom with the Raspberry Pi 5 rather than using SD card.
