FixNZip® Zipper Repair Kit - Large - Nickel

Absolutely brilliant product. I have tried a variety of other solutions prior to this one and all of them have had one fault or another in their design. This zip was originally discounted as a solution due to its price but, after trying the cheaper options, having mixed success and, ultimately failing I decided to purchase it and I'm glad it did. Firstly, it's made of metal, whereas others are sometimes plastic. Secondly, and here is where it stands out, you are able to fit the zip without messing with the existing teeth on the zip mechanism. Other hinged zip solutions are either flimsy in their construction, don't bind the teeth correctly or the locking screw doesn't hold after a few pulls of the zip. Fixed zip replacements need to have parts of the zip strip removed to fit the mechanism, which weakens them. So, I wish I'd purchased this zip in the first place and I'm glad I now have it. My only advice, which the seller alludes to, is to ensure that you check the teeth spacing to get the correct size. It's very simple to confirm and the seller's instructions onsite have images showing how to do it.

This item did exactly what I needed it to. When I busted the zipper on my toolbar, I thought I'd be forking out £150 for a new one. I found this zip replacement and thought I'd take a pint on it for £14. It paid off. Fixed up my bag and happy days.

Old zip says size 8. Zip measurement is 8. Have replaced with your large zip. I now have to tighten it so much that i can't get it to marry up the 2 sides of jacket ( because it's too tight). If I them loosen it, the teeth don't come together, so it won't zip up. Item not suitable for this.

This is an outrageously EXCELLENT product that has rescued a beloved sailing bag. An over-exuberant teen tried to pack more into the bag than was ever going to be possible and the plastic zip slider broke. Even if we could find someone with the right sewing machine to fully replace the zip, it would be ridiculously expensive. I don’t know why others have struggled with this item - I fixed the bag in less than 5 minutes and that included the time taken to force off the old broken slider. I researched my options carefully to ensure the right size was selected for this zip (a YKK 10 - so definitely needed this XL size). The instructions were comprehensive and if stuck there is encouragement to reach out to customer care for assistance (not required). The job was a little fiddly, but certainly not complicated. The only thing I might alter in future is the zip pull just to make it slightly more convenient with wet/cold fingers to but this is a minor consideration. The key thing to know is that this large plastic zip can now be easily and securely fastened so its contents are safe & dry. Really happy to have restored 100% functionality for a fraction of the price of a full zip replacement or new bag. Very happy customer and will definitely reach for this solution again as and when other zips fail.

Purchased this item from seller in USA as none available in UK. Took 2 weeks to arrive and am impressed with the simplicity of this gadget. My jacket zip broke and rather than spend a fortune getting expensive zip replaced, I came across this little beauty of an item via sellers website for fraction of the cost of repair. After viewing couple of sellers instruction videos I decided to chance my luck and buy one. So glad I did as the FixnZip repair is easy to fit and works a treat. My broken jacket zipper has a number embossed on surface, and after checking with magnifier glass I could see the number and ordered the correct size via the helpful guides on FixnZip website. My only negative would be the lack of clear fitting instructions regarding how to fix all the parts onto your FixnZip. Instructions are printed on inside of stapled cardboard which is attached to a small plastic resealable bag. Take care when opening as not to damage card as instructions are printed inside of it. The zipper is easy to fit, just unscrew it and pop over teeth of your zip side on the correct side, hand tighten the screw fully, then about 1/4 turn back and simply pull up. The enclosed items included a piece of cord, piece of plastic and also a small key ring which allows you to attach it to the new FixnZip. I knew what all parts were and where they went, it,s just it could be confusing for some as to figure out how they are actually fitted. Make sure that your teeth on your plastic or metal zips are intact and none are missing or broken or this item will not work properly. They can be used to repair jackets, sleeping bags, jeans, rucksacks, just about any garment that has a zip on it :) Hope this helps someone decide about this particular item.

Was well made but couldn't get it to work, wasted money really.

Absolutely brilliant little invention. Mended my 3/4 zip fleece that I love. Easy to use. Bit pricey but well worth it. Would buy again.

Had a light fleece, whose zipper pull snapped off after 20 years. Devastated and not wanting to throw away an otherwise perfect fleece, I looked for a replacement zip slider pull. Found this one and received it super quick. Tried to fit it and couldnt, BUT, checked on YouTube (amazing site to find absolutely anything on how to - well anything most people would want to find) and found video saying to use a pair of fine nosed cutter/pliers to cut the nose of the slider. Tried but the edges were too blunt, so I grabbed a junior hacksaw, used the pliers to hold the slider, my knees to tension the zip away from where I was sawing (you mustn't damage the zipper teeth), and carefully sawed away at the joining 'nose' of the slider which separates the teeth as you unzip, or guides the teeth together as you zip up. 1 minute later, the cut was complete, and gentle prising of the attached side popped it off. 20 seconds later new slider screwed on, zip tested, job's a more than good one. So so satisfying, and excited!!!!!!!!!!!! I know, I need to get out more, but hey I get to now wear my fleece another 20 years and no faffing to replace the whole zip. amazing, thank you.

Spent $30 - $40 on other pulls trying to replace on a Columbia winter jacket so I could donate to men’s mission. Jacket is like new otherwise. Bought this fixnzip and it worked perfectly. Not in description but you can attach this so that the knob is on the inside for invisible zipper. The directions tell you how to remove pull so that it can be moved to the other side of zipper slide. My only complaint is that pull can be difficult zipping up jacket as it hits adjustment knob when pulling up zipper. Unzips without any resistance. Moving pull to other side of zipper slide allows you to zip up jacket more easily as knob is not in the way (it is now inside). I may put a heavier pull tab on this as the loop on the included pull is thin. Not sure how long that will hold up with wear - the reason I had to replace the original zipper pull. Zipper slide assembly is solid and well built and should last the remainder of the life of the jacket.

Ich brauche den für einen Reissverschluss von einem Sofa-Bezug der ziemlich unter Spannung steht und war zuerst etwas kritisch ob der das Packt. Aber das Teil tut es einfach und der Reissverschluss hält. Die "Montage" war auch einfach und ging ohne Probleme. Klasse! 5 von 5 Sternen, 100% Empfehlung!

This little invention has saved us so much money. We used it to replace the broken zipper on our upholstered linen sectional and instead of paying hundreds to have it repaired, this little zipper did the trick. I’ve also used them on clothing and pillow covers!
