Hobby Components Tea Cup Cats Counted Cross Stitch Kit

This is honestly the worst cross stitch kit I have ever purchased! Yes the strands are pre sorted, yes you get 2 needles and Im sure it will end up looking nice but the quality of the instructions is atrocious! Firstly its so small I can barely see it (and I have good eyesight). Secondly its all in colour which means you can barely see the symbols on some of the darker colours. And lastly there is only one pattern that has the main stitches and half stitches on it AS WELL AS all the backstitch which means in some places you cant even read what colours goes there as the thick backstitch line goes across it!! The strands seem quite poor quality too, so far every single one I have used is frayed at the ends and is knotting very easily. I will persevere with this only because I bought it as a birthday gift and I dont have time to source another kit.** edited to add that after 3 days trying to persevere I have thrown it in the bin! The thread is such poor quality you cannot do more than 2 or 3 stitches without it knotting up or snapping. Complete waste of money and time! Utterly disgusted with this product

The graph that comes with the cross stitch is so small, I actually missed it the first time round. It isn’t helpful unless you have the means to enlarge it. Also, don’t buy this unless you have experience of cross stitch. It’s not the easiest to do as there is so much counting to do - colours change often and there are a lot of 3/4 stitches in the design. Having said that, the item was beautifully packaged and a lot of the embroidery threads already packaged ready to use. With a ‘normal’ sized graph, I would have given this 5 stars.

This looks like it be really nice when finished however I am only on the second cup, I have been super careful with the thread and reusing short pieces, and it appears I won't have enough to finish it off. I am on my last individual thread of the colour for B. I have the rest of the second cup that has B's on and the last one have B's to. Such a shame. Also if you dislike 1/4 and 1/2 stitches this is not for you. I would not have ordered if I'd realised it had them on, there's loads. It's looking like it have to be a two cup and two cat picture as it looks like there won't be enough of other colours either to finish it off. Instructions are not super clear on how many threads to use for the cross stitches either, I have used two, which is standard with most things.

The needle enclosed broke on my third stitch! The key is confusing. Colours are numbered 1-20. The pattern you follow has a mixture of letters and numbers to guide you. This is very confusing: a square in the pattern is numbered 7, this corresponds to colour number 6! Another square is numbered 8, this corresponds to colour number 7. Why not use the colour number in the pattern? I have just unpicked and will persevere as I like the picture!

I loved doing this cross stitch and especially as it was such a reasonable price. Just need to find a cat lover who will appreciate the complete work of art!

Such a fun cross stitch pattern! This was the first big one I have done having only started out with cross-stitching in the last few months. Decorated it further with a quote as it's going to be for a birthday present.The only problem was that I ran out of 3 of the threads but emailed the seller who kindly sent me more with no extra charge.Would happily buy from this seller again.

Got a piece of blank canvas! Couldn't tell whether there would be enough thread. Ordered a stamped kit but that certainly wasn't what I got!

I did not like the material used. Felt too much like plastic. Will try the design once I have the right material.
