Not only simple to install, but very easy. Changed out 9 zones in only a few minutesOur old system started to fail (lightning strike a few years back) ... it would skip schedules where we could only guess if the last schedule ran or the next one would work. Our once beautiful yard now has bare spots and mud instead of green grass. When we were out of town, our yard may not have water for days or weeks with the old system without any way of knowing.With Spinkl, we now have all the information we need and the control from anywhere in the world to get our healthy yard back.>We have history reports of when a schedule ran and when the next one is due to run.>Easy to program and adjust multiple functions. Since it is WIFI, Sprinkl checks on current local weather conditions. Schedules can be skipped when the local weather takes care of your yard watering - either by actual sensors or by the weather reports with from easily adjustable settings at when to skip>Sitting on our porch, we talked about watering a bare spot for a minute or two ... easy enough! My wife turned on that zone from her phone!>As I said, our old system was failing. Now there are no worries, no more guessing. And we can check our system for situations with just a click of a button.>With the old system, zones were scheduled 1-9, in that order, a hassle to adjust and in an inconvenient location to see/operate the controls. Now adjustments are simple and easy from anywhere from our phone. Instead of running adjoining zones that cause puddles with the overlapping continuous water of an area, zones are easily moved in the schedule to any sequence.>Want to water a zone twice? Easy - simply add another schedule to start at the exact time you want.>When I'm out of town and my schedule changes to be at home and I need to mow... it will be very easy to skip watering while I'm still out of town and then start watering as soon as I am done mowing ... all from my phone, from anywhere - and no guessing if I did it right or not - the screen is very easy to read what is happening now, what's next and what happened in the past.>The descriptive naming of the schedules and zones have fantastic benefits. I don't have to count from 1-9 to know what zone to turn on and don't need to guess at which schedule to run. Having a descriptive name allows me or my wife to easily know which zone or schedule to run.>I can not think of a better system for a healthy yard to keep healthy or as in our case, there is no better system I've seen that is as easy to use to help bring our sick yard back to health from having a hard to use, inconvenient system.Thank you Sprinkl for giving us a system that helps us take care of our yard. From anywhere, we can now check on how our yard was watered, how it is being watered at this moment, how much longer each zone has to complete, and what is scheduled to happen. It's easy to skip a zone while the schedule is running or to manually turn on zones in any sequence, at any time from anywhere. Exactly what is needed for a heathy yard.To make it even better, since all of the controls are on a mobile app - Sprinkl will just get better and better without the need of another system with a new option - the option can be added to the app as technology changes. Improvements to the app, such as actual live photos of the yard can be incorporated to help maintain a healthy yard to come home to from a long vacation.

I just installed this product, so I wanted to provide a review before I forgot what I liked and didn't like about the installation ;-) The packaging is very simple, definitely no frills. The "Installation Guide" is a bit confusing in that it has information on both sides of the single sheet provided, and it's folded in such a way (quarters) that the user is unlikely to read what I believe is intended to be read first: "What's in the box". Just make sure you read all sides of the Guide.The stickers provided to help you easily tag your existing wires is genius! A super simple feature that probably costs the manufacturer less than $.10 to include. Attaching the valve wires to the controller was very easy, but you will need a very! small screw driver head to get to each screw. Each terminal is well-labeled on the unit and the key provided in the Installation Guide is helpful.I have a few quibbles with the Installation Guide. Step 6 says, "Plug Control into power with supplied adapter. Light will turn yellow and will be in setup mode within 1 minute". When I plugged the unit in, the status light turned red. On the unit, the status light key that says red is offline/fault. I waited approx. 10 seconds for this to clear and when it did not, I pressed the large green button on the unit which then caused the status light to turn yellow. Everything worked normally from there. Either the status light should not have turned red initially, or the Guide is wrong. Also, the only button on the entire unit is a big green button on the right. The Installation Guide doesn't mention it at all. That's a miss.The product design is nice and clean. Slick looking. No complaints there. The app worked well with one exception. I took photos of each area serviced by each zone, and I named each zone at the same time. In the process of uploading the photos and naming the zones, the app got confused and used the wrong photo for several zones. I had to retake several photos again. I suspect there is a timing issue between the process of telling it to use the photo you have taken and tapping the "Update" button in the upper right of the app screen. Anyway, a second try worked fine.Browsing through each menu item of the app suggests the app will be very intuitive and easy to use. However, customers would benefit from better YouTube video(s) that could provide a tour, or better yet a full tutorial, of the Control app! The only video I found about Control had no voice-over and was poor video quality.I will come back to update this review once I have used the app for several weeks. Hopefully I can go from 4 stars to 5!Update 4/29/20: I’ve used the controller for a number of weeks now. Creating schedules is very flexible and easy. I like the real-time notifications when a schedule runs, and I really like the History features that logs all runs, manual or scheduled. I’ve upgraded my rating from 4 to 5 stars. My only ask is that they add a 10 minute option to manual runs. Definitely recommend this product.

I really hated my 20 year old sprinkler controller. Programming was a pain. No Wi-Fi or sensors. Just one big dumb timer.So I was hoping somebody had a smarter and simpler approach. I did my research and chose Sprinkl. They seemed to offer the most bang for the buck. I was NOT disappointed. This product really is awesome. Here are a few things I love:• The user interface is clean and simple but packed with configurable features. It runs great on the iPhone. I love that you can change the order of the zones from the app and the app keeps a history of the run times. It also interfaces with your local weather station and wont run if it rains or will delay running if rain is expected• The install is as advertised. Anybody can do this themselves in 20 minutes or less. The stickers they provide to label your wires during installation is super smart.• It comes with up to 16 zones ready to configure. Other sellers charge a premium for more than 8 zones• Best of all, not having to spend fifteen minutes spinning the big dial in a hot garage and hoping the controller does what I want it to do! I can do everything from my couch and the app lets me know all is well.Finally, I have to call out their support. My Sprinkl arrived before the promise date and I immediately installed it. Unfortunately, it would not go into set up mode. Called Sprinkl support. Got an immediate response from one the owners. He immediately ordered a replacement. Then when he realized I was local to one of his facilities he offered to have someone come out and deliver it the next day! Turns out, a co-owner showed up. Not only did he get me a new unit, he installed it and walked me through the features… on a Sunday afternoon! It does not get better than that. Thanks Sprinkl.
