Overall I am happy and definitely recommend this discharge water Pump, mainly because it very economically and successfully resolved my front-load washer issues of frequent cycle disruptions, often with an error code, usually F21 or Sud. This is the first drain Pump replacement for my 15 year old Whirlpool Duet Sport unit. In hindsight, I suspect it has been a weak Pump giving me troubles over the past year or so, until recently when the Original Equipment (OE) Pump totally stopped pumping through the discharge hose. I did find the discharge hose to be partially restricted from gunk build-up over that 15 years of use time, however after a hose clean-out, the original pump still would not push any discharge water out of the hose. As for the installation, this new unit fit my existing pump housing assembly perfectly using the new already-installed large diameter O-ring, so it's a bit confusing as to why there is an extra O-ring of the same size provided separately (note there are NO instructions included with this Pump). As almost everybody doing this Pump-only repair has found, the wash machine's original 2-wire electrical control connector is for Pump motor terminals that are positioned in-line next to each other, but this new service Pump has staggered terminals, so, I successfully used the included jumper wires (two of them) to adapt the connection. Not sure if the connection is sensitive to +/- polarity, but my first choice worked. I used some added zip-ties to fully secure the jumper connection to the machine's wire harness (see the photo) because the female to male terminal fit did not feel very firm. Internally, I see that this new service Pump does have a significant design improvement over the OE Pump, where the new Pump has a dedicated O-ring seal to keep drain water out of the armature cavity. Maybe that is what the "(Upgraded)" descriptor refers to in the Amazon posting. I suspect the stinky-murky drain water getting into that cavity is what killed my OE Pump. I can see that this new Pump's impeller blade geometry is slightly smaller than the OE pump (see the photo), yet I don't see any noticeable decrease in discharge water flow. In use three weeks so far, and WORKING GREAT... Only time will tell, but hopefully this Pump can help get all of us a few more years out of our expensive wash machines. I have some cautions on shipping time and protective packaging, but Amazon does not allow that information in product reviews, so you will have to find out for yourself.

Like all the others, my washer was not draining well. I cleaned the trap, which seemed to help but I still had errors when draining. To further diagnose before ordering this part, I removed the pump motor from the assembly (there is a catch tab to depress with a thin screwdriver before turning pump to release). The impeller of my motor was wobbly and seemed loose - which I found is a tell tale sign you need a new one (the motor will run, but won't pump effectively). I replaced my pump motor with this unit and the machine runs great and is so much quieter! Also, my unit came with a loose o-ring that looked like it fit over the motor, so I installed it and the pump wouldn't fit. Turns out there was already an o-ring installed on the motor that I didn't detect, and I was trying to install it with two. I removed the one I put on and it fit great and has no leaks - so beware, you may get a second o-ring as a spare - check to see if an o-ring is already on the unit. Tips: This is the time to clean out all of your hoses to get rid of the bad smell that front load washers sometimes get. I would also recommend replacing the drive belt at this time as this is a normal wear item, is $11, and will save you from a sure breakdown in the future. HOSE CLEANING: I removed the black one connected to the tub, the pump motor housing, and gray discharge hose (both the interior and exterior portions). This is a fairly easy process - just youtube replacement of these hoses and it will walk you through. Take them to the bathtub in a bucket to clean them (when your wife is not home). I used hot water and a long, tubular dryer lint brush to clean them thoroughly inside (tons of putrid gray colored chunks came out of all of them). Then I sprayed a bunch of Kaboom soap scum remover inside them and let them sit, then I repeated the process until they were clean. Once the washer was back up and running, I immediately noticed any bad smell was gone. After washing, I always leave the door open to dry and pull the soap tray out and dump the water out of it. Hopefully it will stay clean now if I do an Affresh tablet once a month or so. I hope this info is helpful to you!

This part was a perfect fit. Easy to install now it works great again. The price was less than i thought it would be and i didnt need a repairman.

Its been in for 8 months and still works fine. Be sure to wire tie the leads, there's a lot of movement when the drum spins which will jiggle the wires apart

Fit perfectly. I opted to reuse the coils from the old motor as they had the proper pin orientation for the existing connector, instead of using the pigtails provided. Installed in under 5 minutes and no leaks. My washing machine drains again!

I replaced my motor on my whirlpool washing machine (model WFW9150WW01). Although it has no instructions, I figured out the install where there are no leaks, it works and there a no sparks. The two blue wires in my photo were included with the motor. It's not clear if it mattered which wire you connect to which pole, but it worked on my first try. It seems to me the O ring is a spare, as there was one already installed on the motor, and on my first install attempt I had the spare O ring on and when I twisted the motor back out of the washer I realized the spare O ring was loose, didn't seem to fit and possibly interfered with the seal made with the O ring shipped on the motor. I've done only one load so far and will write an update of there's any problems.
