Sony DVDirect Express VRDP1 Multi-Function DVD Writer for Sony Handycam Camcorders with USB interface-Black

I just got this product, it is easy to use and the dvds can be played on other media without using your hanycam after they are done being burend. In other reviews it was stated this cant be done. It can t be done if your putting the disc that is HD in a dvd player that is not formatted for HD. Only then do you have to play that disc using the writer and handycam. This is stated in writer instructons that come with the unit. I burned 2 dvds of my daughters graduation and they came out fine ,not HD by the way ,and the picture and sound were good. I played them on my computer. Remember, when it says not compatiable,its not gonna work. Also this unit only works with the handycam plugged in the wall outlet,not with the battery,it wont work as per the instructions. I am satisfied,good simple product makes burning dvds from my sony handycam easy!

I had one good review and one bad review and had a hard time deciding if I wanted to order this or not. But, I did and it took me a little bit to learn how to work it and it is not a real fast burner, but it worked wonderful and got my discs burned and played them and then deleted my memory so now have lots of room for doing more videos. I had real good luck with this.

I have a Sony video camera that this works with. It works great, but I will say this becuase I make personal self help recordings. This does not produce a standard video that is able to be copied directlyy from the DVD to your computers hard drive. I have a Studio Video production program that can import it to the PC, but no other way to do it. I have another Sony video camera that I can copy the video direct to the hard drive. So for traveling and storing videos this is really economical. For doing video productions it is a little more complicated.

The price was great,but I did not read the discription completely.Once you burn the dics with the burner ,you can only play the disc on the player,not on your dvd player.So you need to hook up the camera and the burner to your TV.

I am so happy with this dvd burner. If you plan on only burning certain scenes, do not follow instrictions in manual. 1. connect burner to handycam and then plug in power. 2. open burner, insert blank dvd, and close. 3. press disc burn option on handycam, (not on burner) follow the prompts, tap thumbnails you want to burn. 4. press ok and abra cadabra you got your home movie. i would recomend this product. You can't edit footage but so much easier than trying to burn dvd on my Mac,( couldn't get it to work wouldn't recognize my handycam. )

This device couldn't be any easier to use. Just plug it in to your camera, push a button, and badda bing badda boom, you've got a DVD of your home videos.

This is a great device! Easy to connect and burn whatever you want to burn from the camera memory. I have noticed that if you shoot in "HD" mode, the playback can only be view via Blue-ray disc player. If you want to view your DVD on a regular DVD player you MUST record in "STANDARD" OR "LONG TIME" recording mode, otherwise recording made in "HIGHEST QUALITY FX" and "HIGH QUALITY FH" has to be viewed on a Blue-ray player, it will not play on a regular DVD player.Hope this helps!

What this unit does is that you can record video from your camera to DVD on the DVD writer. However in order to watch the DVD on a television you have to have the DVD writer connected to the camera and then the camera has to be connected to the television, there is a specific cable you must buy which is NOT included! You can't just take your DVD and pop it into your DVD player unless you have a specific DVD player. I feel Sony has misled customers on this product. What is the point in making a product where you can't just go straight to any DVD player?Beware if you buy this product. It works, however not in a way that makes sense.

This item is well made and does exactly what it's designed to do, copy Video from a Sony Camcorder onto DVD. Unfortyuanetly, that's about it. You cannot really sue it for anything else, due to the connection not being USB. It may be possible to find an adaptor for this, but I haven't looked so cannot say.

Works very well although a bit complicated (we keep forgetting the settings e.g if we have recorded in HD)Never the less its main purpose is to make DVD from our Sony video camera which is much easier than connecting the camera to the dvd / blue ray player to record. Its portability is super. It does the job required and playback is simple through the televison. The discs it produces works well in all DVD players we have used.Delivery experience excellent

Does exactly as it says on the tin, so to speak. Well finished and simple to use. Sony have done well with this burner. Mind you it won't work with any but Sony camcorders, but you can't have everything.

ordered friday , delivered monday , just over 2 hours on monday evening and i had 2 dvd,s to watch on the tv , this item does exactly what it says on the box , cant praise it enough 5 star plus from me
